After a tough season we're happy we can say we're given a place in the PCT for the 2015 season. 2014 Hasn't been a season of many victories, but more consitent results the entire season.
This year won't see may changes, apart from the sponsors now Privatbank is gone. The Children of Chernobyl Foundation will be the organisation to give the team a name this season, and financially Nemiroff is the most important sponsor.
Furthermore, Aersosvit will provide the team with both money and transport for the riders in between races.
The equipment sponsors haven't changed from last season. SCOTT will still provide us with bikes, and Nalini is our clothing sponsor.

Good luck in 2015 mate! I hope we will continue our friendy co-existence and cooperation in professional peloton also in the new season. Since we will be again in different divisions, we can talk about some possible loanies during transfers. Your team was always a perfect place to loan a rider in and we can help each other once again. So see you in usual transfer chat.

We should be able to help each other out again, I'm sure you'll have some talents needing races at PCT level, and I have a guy in need of some PT experience.
As for the being friendly thing, I hope it continues, we both benefit from it

Several teams already published their goals, and we shouldn't stay behind too much. After last year's fail to even achieve a single goal we've become a bit more conservative, with the hopes it'll pay off.
| Win | Vuelta al Tachira | | Top 5 | Tour d'Andorra | / | Top 5 | Tour de Romandie or Baltic Chain Tour | | Stage win | Tour of Ukraine | | Top 15 | PCT Team standings |
The goals are completely the opposite of last year, with climbers needing to step up. Therefore it's safe to say we need to improve in that field, and one of the Free Agents is very tempting to buy at any cost. Should that fail we always have Artem Topchanyuk who can be trained, and last year he's achieved several top 10 positions already, mostly in races where Efimkin was supposed to be our leader. As ultimate back up the possible goal in the Baltics could be achievable with a different type of rider. Finally the standings goal should be achievable as we should have an advantage, only a small advantage, on the newly promoted teams.

Interesting change of direction there, which was pretty obvious to predict.
Good luck with making the obvious happen though, we all know the ManGame...
We'll probably only meet in your Top 5 goals, so luckily there's enough space for both of us

The most interesting part of the entire has begun with the renewals, and transfers will follow soon. All of our riders have visited the office, putting in demands we sometimes had to laugh about. Most riders have seen their contracts renewed, a few will be released to the free agency.
Renewed and Staying
| Oleksandr | Prevar | 75000 | | Oleksandr | Polivoda | 65000 | | Artem | Topchanyuk | 75000 | | Mykhaylo | Kononenko | 50000 | | Oleksandr | Golovash | 50000 | | Andriy | Orlov | 50000 | | Vitaliy | Buts | 50000 | | Volodymyr | Gomenyuk | 50000 | | Shaquille | Sinclair | 50000 | | Marios | Athanasiades | 50000 | | Ignas | Konovalovas | 350000 | | Tomas | Vaitkus | 150000 | | Maciej | Ulanowski | 65000 | | Sergey | Nikolaev | 50000 | | Vladimir | Efimkin | 70000 |
Unsurprisingly we keep our entire Ukrainian core. Oleksandr Prevar, our best rider pre-tranfers will finally join the team after being loaned out for 2 consecutive seasons. Ignas Konovalovas and Tomas Vaitkus both keep a reasonably high wage because we didn't want to risk losing them by not obliging to their demands. Ulanowski will hopefully prove he's a great rider to have for such a low wage and the Russians Nikolaev and Efimkin will be helping the team for another year.
Renewed and Looking for a Loan
| Kyriakos | Skettos | 50000 | | Polychronis | Tzortzakis | 50000 |
Skettos didn't progress as mcuh as we would've liked and there is no point in training him for another year if teams from the continental division can do the same thing. Tzortzakis will again be looking for a loan to the ProTour to reach his full potential.
Renewed and Looking for a Transfer
| André | Greipel | 250000 | | Kobe | Vanoverschelde | 70000 | | Filipe | Cardoso | 50000 | | Bruno | Lima | 50000 | | Martin | Puusepp | 50000 |
Greipel isn't getting any younger, and whilst he'd still be a good rider to have on the team we feel like it'd be better for both to look for new options. He'd be an excellent sprinter on the continental level, or alternetively a good lead-out in higher divisions. Kobe is a rider who really disappointed us last season, and he just has to go, but we want money in exchange. The Portugese duo doesn't fit into our team anymore, and both would be great additions for a team operating on the lowest level, as would Martin Puusepp who couldn't achieve anything great in the few days he raced last year.
Released to FA
| Arturs | Ansons | | | Igor | Abakoumov | | | Muradjan | Khalmuratov | | | Eduard | Vorganov | | | Robert | Vrecer | |
First of, big thanks to these 5 riders. They've all been part of some successes, but just aren't good enough anymore. Especially worth mentioning is Vorganov, who won the GP Yekaterinburg in our first year back when he still was the national champion of Russia. We wish them all the best in finding new teams!

Still think Konovalovas is overpaid. He surely needs to overperform as well
Other than that, there's room for improvement. Good luck!

Konovalovas is getting massively overpaid, but we do need him as he's our best bet on doing something in our home race right now... It's slightly better compared to last year, but I wouldn't expect him justifying that wage this year...
On the other hand I'm extremely happy Prevar and Topchanyuk didn't go crazy with their demands and Greipel was just laughable...
Greipel: ''I want more moneys than last year!!!''
Me: ''You can get 250.000 if you want...''
Greipel: ''Okey.''

As we've indicated before we were looking to get rid of some extra riders besides those who didn't get a new contract. Therefore we are happy to announce we found new homes for all of them! Kobe Vanoverschelde and André Greipel will try to help Lululemon/Bulgaria Blackfish stay up for another year. They left the team for a sum of 300.000 which was partially reinvested in a purchase which will be highlighted later. The rest of the money will be used for other purposes.
Moving to Mobil - Aeropostal is sprinter Filipe Cardoso who didn't really fit in our team anymore. With the departure of Privatbank, Portugal has become completely irrelevant and therefore we were happy when the manager of the South American team told us he could use a rider like Filipe. We earned a decent 70.000 from this deal.
Leaving the team for free are Martin Puusepp and Bruno Lima. Both have been somewhat valuable for the team, but in order to free up funds the decision was made to give the away to Grupo Nutresa and Verkefnid Iceland.
Kyriakos Skettos will get to use his native language a lot more next season as he'll be loaned out to Elta - Hellenic Post and Polychronis Tzortzakis will join Bonsucro on a loan deal. Both teams feel confident they can improve the riders noticably, and we believe their words.
To compensate this massive outflow of riders we had to enter the market to get new riders. Mikayil Krasnoperov has always been our main target, and after last year's massive fail we signed him on a 300.000 wage, which seems more than reasonable.
Fan-favourite Jaroslav Popovych joins the team from Metinvest - Dacia. We've been chasing after him ever since we founded this team and we are extremely happy he finally joined us on a 175.000 wage. Metinvest was compensated with a fee of 250.000
A rider from a new country for us is Dmitriy Gruzdev from Kazakhstan who signed for a minimum wage of 50.000. Gruzdev is a strong man against the clock and should be a valuable domestique on flat roads.
Adrian Nitu is a rider who has been forgotten for many years. A great talent who never really reached his potential has been given a chance after a terrific performance at the Lost Gems Racing Series which was held during this off-season. We hope that he'll reach his potential someday, and if he will he should be a great domestique for us. He also signed for a minimum wage.
Finally joining us on a loan from Metinvest - Dacia is Stefan Petrovski. The Macadonian double champion will be looking to gain some experience at a lower level before joining the big team at the highest level.

Initially we marked Ignas Konovalovas as unavailable for transfers, but in the end we realised the 350.000 euros of wage he took was too much to guarantee a decent points haul. Therefore Ignas has been sold to cycleYorkshire s/b ASDA-Savers for a fee of 200.000, which may not be a lot for a rider like him, but it allowed us to bring in another rider who will be presented a bit later on in this update.
Russian climber Egor Silin will strengthen our mountain depth even further. He may not be a super talented rider, but he'll be more than useful in both the mountains and hills departments of our team. He'll join us on a minimum wage.
Andrei Kashechkin is the third Kazakh rider we brought in from the free agency. After something which looked like a bidding war we managed to get Andrei on board for 151.550, which may seem like an odd number, but in fact it was a strategical chouce to offer him this wage. With his abilities to conquer mountains he'll be a great domestique for Krasnoperov.
The final rider we can present today is Aleksandr Efimkin, Vladimir's twin brother! Aleksandr has been bought from Meiji - JR East for a sum of 500.000, which is a lot of money for us, but he's one of the more gifted puncheurs from the region and we hope he can justify his wage of 235.000 this season. He may not have the best acceleration, and therefore he may not be the best rider for classics, but we are sure he is more than capable of stage hunting in some races.

Our transfers are now officially over, but we still have some riders to present.
But first, Mikhail Kochetkov will be loaned out to Risa - Ergon where he will be a valuable part of their TTT squad. Mikhail will gain experience in Norway before joining our team.
Oleksandr Golovash has been loaned out to ONCE-Eroski. Just like Kochetkov, he will be a valueble asset for a TTT squad. He will also gain experience abroad before re-joining us.
A final rider loaned out is Shaquille Sinclair who joins Chiquita - Universal p/b Minions. The Jamaican champion will hopefully gain enough experience to stay the hottest thing on wheels.
Incoming are Denis Vorontsov, a Russian climber who will be a domesqtie in many races where the roads go up. He's not really good at anything else, but why would he? He's here to climb.
Oleksandr Lobov is one of only a few Ukrainians brought in this year. He's a decent rider over small hills, and still has some potential. Just like our other talent, Orlov, Lobov will become a valueable domestique for Prevar.
And, as usual, we brought in some exotics this year! Iman Suparman, our I'm an Suparman as we will call him, is an Indonesian rider with capabilities on the flat. He'll be our breakaway killer, but he'll also get a few chances to show himself, most likely in breakaways. And from Madagascar, the fastest sprinter from the island, Roger Randrianambinina, which is obviously too long of a name... He should be a good lead-out for Ulanowski, and he will bring us a nice new jersey for next year!
These last 4 signings all signed on a minimal wage, which is excellent!
And as a final rider we had brought in, Ruslan Tleubayev, a good sprinter from Kazakhstan. Unfortunately we received an offer we couldn't resist before we actually signed him. For a fee of 395.000 he has moved to Compal - Merida

I like the depth in the mountains a lot. That said I don`t see much scoring of them. Team rankings eventually here and there.
Nepo is a great rider for any team and he should do well. Not too sure about Krasnoperov though. |

Scoring-wise I'm not sure whether I've improved or not. I probably have by getting 2 very decent puncheurs instead of Konovalovas, but on the other side, Konovalovas was easily capable of getting top 10s in short tours with his TT abilities. Guess I have to hope Ulanowski and Vaitkus bring in some surprise results.

10 Ukrainians at Children of Chernobyl & 10 Brazilians at Bonsucro.
If ever there is a team which will be hard to predict it is surely Children of Chernobyl. Plenty of depth, however, there are no guaranteed big scorers which could see a potential relegation fight, again, for the team if you are unlucky. Some wise planning is needed for sure. |
