Team Type 1 was founded in 2005 by diabetic cyclists Phil Southerland and Joe Eldridge, in an effort to not only put together a competitive cycling team with diabetic riders, but also to 'to inspire, educate and empower people around the world affected by the disease'. They do this not only through their racing, but also through their extensive work as a charity in countries such as Rwanda, where medical resources are scarce. Team Type 1 has gone from strength to strength on both accounts, with its cyclists winning the grueling Race Across America an impressive three times, as well as competing in top level races such as Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Criterium du Dauphine, Tour du Suisse and the Tour of California. Perhaps the team's finest moment was when in 2015 under the name of Novo Nordisk they competed in Milan - San Remo with an all-diabetic squad.
Thanks to MARSUPILAMI and Krisa for the jersey.
Novo Nordisk is a Danish pharmaceutical company and are a prominent manufacturer of insulin, which helps diabetics all around the world manage the condition. As a result, it is natural that such an organisation would offer their support to the team.
Cannondale is an American bike manufacturer and will supply the team with bikes to race on for the season. As our team is primarily based in America, they are the obvious option for this.
German car manufacturer BMW have also offered their support, and so they will provide the team cars.
Le Coq Sportif is the kit sponsor, and so provide the team with jerseys and all the other essential kit the team will require throughout the season.

Nice jersey for a lovely team! Will you keep going with the diabetic focus thinking of riders as well, or will you not take that into account when the transfer season starts?
Must admit I hope you'll try to sign as many diabetics as possible, even though it most likely will make your results very limited. But Team Type 1/Team Novo Nordisk is special for me, so I hope you'll at least try to do something similar to what they do in real life
But whatever you decide to do, good luck! |

I'm going to try and go for a blend of diabetic and non-diabetic riders, in the same way that Team Type 1 did before they became Novo Nordisk. Has anyone got any diabetic riders on their team out of interest? |
