It is not just other race thread material or race..
Didi you know that same Luca Paolini.. Bearded beast who helped a lot Kristoff at 2014 (came out again from nowhere when they had 2km to go)..is same rider who also did most of the work at 2003 when Bettini won. This guy needs a medal or something.

Since RCS is pushing for more hills, it's likely going to be the last chance for sprinters for a couple of years. Kristoff and DegenStache are my two guys. It's likely going to be raining once again, so it's going to be a tough men race. Paolini & Kristoff double-combo on the forefront into San Remo seems likely. Will be interesting to see how Sagan fairs at Tinkoff-Saxo.
I've spotted way less talk of puncheurs this year, compared to last one. Nibali is basically just here because it's what people want to see of him. Gilbert and Van Avermaet are fairly quiet, especially the latter could, alongside Stybar or Kwiatkowski, destroy the peloton up to the Poggio. Valverde doing MSR, and just within a day will be at the start of Catalunya. Actually, with the way Valv has been riding Strade Bianche, he seems to be my best bet to cause some action-packed racing. It's getting late for him and he wants to win whatever he can still grab.

Dagenkolb is great pick..
But still if any sprinter will survive Kristoff will be scary strong..has he has been all this year. |

Also, according to the article Bradley Wiggins is the favourite for Paris - Roubaix, he has a shot, but definitely not higher than Cancellara, Terpstra, Vanmarke, Stybar, Sagan, etc.

Interesting read other than that, I've always enjoyed Geraint's view when he chats to the BBC and this time was no different.
In the favorites discussion I too really like the look of JJ Lobato, he's great uphill, he's got a good engine and stamina, and has one of the best accelerations in the race. He proved himself to the race last year. Ditto Ben Swift. I also like Mathews as an outsider. I've put my $$$ on Lobato because he's so underrated by the bookies, such a talent. |

A really interesting and wide open race this year, doubt that they will be able to get rid of the hard man sprinters so I see it falling to one of them, its a real toss of the coin job trying to pick a winner.

I'm actually going to go out on a limb and say that a break will take it, probably Van Avermaet, Stybar or Valverde as they've been in pretty good form, or maybe an Italian rider, and it'd be great to see Cancellara on the move.
I also think that Sagan is really underrated and overrated at the same time for this, he is underrated in his ability to climb and if he makes an attack I can see him making the finish, especially if he goes in a small group, so he is definetly I competitor to win this if he goes, but he is completely overrated if he just stays in the bunch, too many stronger sprinters who can make it over the climbs for him to win that and he never really gives his best here anyway.
I could go forever listing names though, this race is open to everybody, and maybe just to spoil the fun, the breakaway will take it.

Hmm. Can`t watch it. So just programmed to record it from 2-5 p.m.
Hope this gets all the action, the peloton is not too slow to be still underway then and the recorder is not full before the end.
Will be an interesting race for sure. A lot obviously depends how hard they ride the Cipressa and Poggio. But I think Cavendish and Greipel have a good chance.
But the big favourite must be Kristoff.
Sagan surely wants to win and will be up there, but in a pure sprint it will be hard for him, so eventually he should try to follow the ones of Cancellara, Gilbert, Stybar (if he is allowed) etc. Same probably goes for Rojas Gil.
Lobato is a bit of a dark horse. He had awesome form in early February, but not sure if he still is in such a great form.
Other than that quite interested what Cimolai can do if it`s a harder race. Same for Ciolek.

Most definitely. Plus, like you said, he has Paolini as road captain. That guy's power and experience can make all the difference.

Would love to see Stybar or Navardauskas winning her, but it seems like they´re not the first options in their team. Hopefully Bardiani can do something, but Colbrelli seems to be not as strong as last year where he should´ve gone for the win...
