This should comfortably be between Koren and Spilak with everyone else battling for 3rd.
Or really 3rd shoud be between Vrecer and Kocjan.
Vrecer is the first of the good TT'ers to go out and he sets new best at the first intermedite as expected.
That doesn't last long though.
As are Koren and Spilak obiously. Will Spilak be able to make a comeback after losing 8 seconds on both the first two sections?
Spilak underlines the difference between the best and the rest by catching up with Kocjan right after the last intermediate.
It helps him loose a bit less time on Koren on the final section, but the Oz-rider was just far too strong today.
12 contestants spread over 10 teams means no domestiques to control the raceā¦
If there was any reason Koren would take teh double-NC so that is about the only thing that is unlikely to happen.
Having saved up a lot of energy on the TT Polanc attacks right at the start of the race.
Pibernik, Bostner and Kocjan joins him.
10 minute gap at 39 km to go since no one is chasing the slightest bit behind.
Out of this group Polanc seems the weakest while Kocjan could have an edge due to packing a better punch than the others.
Polanc knows this so he tries to gain an advantage before the final hill.
Pibernik goes after him.
Meanwhile in the peloton Spilak have attacked with 19 km to go trying to regain a bit of honour
With 2,4 km to go the front quartet is reunited.
1,5 km to go and the sprint is opened.
Kocjan gets headway into the final km.
And he holds on to that advantage all the way.
The big names decided to give the fans something to watch behind even though they couldn't be bothered to actually finishing all the race.
