Hello pcmdaily friends, long time no see!
It is becoming increasingly apparent that I might not be around any more. In more ways than one. On pcmdaily, my interest in sharing my thoughts, experiences, and projects, has waned. But also in real life, it is medically quite possible that I won't be kicking around for centuries to come either.
Now, I'm still somewhat optimistic that the medium term might still be OK, but if something happens then it could be very unpredictable and sudden.
For the above reasons combined I thought it would be nice to take a little moment now to just say a little thank-you!
I think this is perhaps the only community that I ever really took an interest in besides school (yep, I'm pretty anti-social), and certainly the only forum I have been an active member of. It started on sour terms as I was "forced" into making an account to download a database (hence the troll username  ). But I've stuck around for a great ride.
To drop a small selection of names & experiences... stories from the likes of SeoulYank, Squire, alexkr00, Ian Butler, and mpardo... funny/informative/thoughtful posts from issoisso, SSJ2Luigi, Brazilian luigi, sutty, Jesleyh amongst others... CrueTrue because... duh! And thank-you to all the database and graphics creators that made PCM a really fun and customizable experience!
I only wanted to keep things brief, but if I didn't mention your name, chances are I still view you very favorably; it seems like we developed a really thoughtful and mature niche of a community over time!
There were also downs too. I took on responsibilities that were poorly judged, at times asked for much in return for little, and exchanged a few unnecessarily heated/pointless words in the newbier days. I think mostly any dents were patched up, but I am happy to extend apologies if anyone wells up in anger at the sight of my username. That was never my intention
Anyway, all the best - rockin' PCM2009 till the end!

I've found myself browsing the website in the past couple of weeks, and as a result I thought it would be appropriate to update this post.
7 months ago I was going through a dark and uncertain place, both physically, and mentally. Opening up a little bit about this online, which I didn't feel comfortable with in "real-life", lifted me off what was a really volatile point at the time. I am thankful for the opportunity to do that through this website, and I think that, though it was a small action, it was an important experience.
Since then, things been very up-and-down, but I'm still here. Recently, I have started to feel very... at peace... with everything in life. Whilst I am not physically "mended", in my mind I am now comfortable simply looking ahead to what the next 7 months and beyond will hold. Thanks again |
