I know this has been done before, but I wanted to launch a new PCM.daily Chess Championship using Chess.com.
The format will be a Swiss tournament which, for those of you unfamiliar, goes like this:
Spoiler 1 point for a win, 1/2 for a draw, 0 for a loss.
The first round is by random draw.
The second round is also random, however you are pooled:
The people who are on 1 point
1/2 point
And 0 points.
The third round is pooled:
2 points
1 1/2
1
1/2
0
And so on. The number of round will depend on the number of entries.
If there is an uneven number, which is highly likely, the player who faces somebody form a higher pool and vice versa is random.
The only reason I will interfere with the randomness is to try and make time zones more similar.
The games will be sorted between the two, and there can be spectators using Chess.com in live chess, which we won't be using until the big deciders, which I would like to have live for the spectators, though I understand if people don't have that time, we get there when we get there. I will announce the new round publicly on the thread, and will keep results and standings in the reserves
We will play correspondence chess, basically meaning your time limit for moves is a fortnight.
Anybody can enter, though I would like to know who is seriously challenging for a good result and whom for fun if we get huge interest, but this is unlikely. Just in case, fill out this form:
1. Do you have experience in the past PCM.daily Chess Championships?
1b. If yes, how did you do?
2. What is your level of ability/past experiences with Chess?

Love Chess, I'm signing up.
1. Do you have experience in the past PCM.daily Chess Championships?
Wasn't on the site then.
2. What is your level of ability/past experiences with Chess?
Won a whole school tournament, including games against two of the best year twelves in the school last year (year 7) I've been playing chess for 7 years and last year I came 5th in a regional tournament with 98 students who were chosen by there schools, including year twelves I qualified for state in that but my school didn't let me play. I also have an experience with chess.com but I mostly use it to try out new strategies Instead of testing them in real games and to study chess.

1. Do you have experience in the past PCM.daily Chess Championships?
Yes
1b. If yes, how did you do?
The initiative failed, but I was flawless up to then
2. What is your level of ability/past experiences with Chess?
Have played it for over 10 years now, my current level should be around 1950-2000.
One question about the tournament setup: what form of chess will you use, the correspondence chess or the live chess. I'd recommend the former, as you don't have to rely on time schedules then and the latter didn't work out very well.

1. Do you have experiences with the past PCM.daily Chess Championships? No
2. What is your level of abilities/past experiences with Chess? I'm ok, usually do highly in regional tournaments for school but I am usually on a board slightly too easy, won the school chess camps (against people one year older) but still board 4, though this did occur after team season. My team has always won the regionals/provincials bar once when I was playing seniors, but falter at Islands (qualifier for nationals, closest was 5th).

I'd also like to participate
1. Do you have experience in the past PCM.daily Chess Championships?
- No, I don't
2. What is your level of ability/past experiences with Chess?
- I've learnt how to play as a kid and participated in a few tournaments at the time. From then on I've kept it purely as a hobby, which I turn to whenever I find a new friend to play against.

No.
2. What is your level of ability/past experiences with Chess?
I played a lot when I was a kid, but basically stopped when I moved away due to school, and didn't play much for 5-6 years. Now I play again, but basically only on the Internet, not on chess.com though.

Was in last time
1b. If yes, how did you do?
Selwink kicked my ass
2. What is your level of ability/past experiences with Chess?
I play on occasion, sometimes I play a lot, then I stop for a while, nothing too serious.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
