Welcome to the home of the LPC!
The new authority over World Cycling, which is run for cycling by the people that know cycling. After the Lance Armstrong scandal the cycling world began to realise that as long as the UCI was in control, the world of professional cycling would be a web of lies and corruption. Therefore a group of ex pros, team managers and current riders got together and decided on what they needed to do to reform cycling and to get back on the road to a trustworthy sport.
There decision would change the course of cycling history.
They decided that the head of cycling needed to be changed, and with that the UCI was finished. To fill this place the ex pros formed the LCP or the League of Professional Cyclists, but they needed a head to this organisation a man that people would see and know that cycling was changing to a clean sport the group decided on Christophe Basson, the former Festina rider who was renowned for being a clean rider throughout his career.
Then as Bassons first act as leader he decided that we should disband all cycling teams and start from scratch, with new managers, new staff and different riders. However Basson also decided that the first thing that needed to happen was that we needed to draw a line under the past and move forward, so all ex dopers would be allowed to race. However the group decided that stricter measures needed to be brought in, so they decided that anyone caught doping from now on, would be given a lifetime ban from the cycling world, as well as this they decided that riders serving current bans wouldn't be allowed back into cycling.
That means that Johnathon Tiernan Locke, Ballan and any other riders serving a ban before the start of the 2014 season (meaning that Frank Schleck is allowed to race) are banned from cycling. As well as this they decided that any riders linked with known drugs doctors would be given lifetime bans, and to stop team doping they banned doctors from being part of cycling teams.
The Game
The World of Cycling Needs You!
The LPC is looking for new team managers to help restore cycling's credibility, all you need to do is fill out the below form. The first 17 managers to sign up will be guaranteed a place in the WorldTour and any managers after will make up the Pro Continental teams.
However this game has a difference rather than the manager choosing a team, they will set up a team ownership company, such as Slipstream Sports is to Garmin, then they will choose a maximum of 1 main country and 3 secondary countries for their company. After 17 people have signed up I will send out Sponsor offers to managers from 3 different sponsors, these will be of different budget, however the higher the budget the more demands the sponsors will give, these may include Riders that they want to be on the squad of value, Specified amount of riders from a certain country or key goal races and rider types. All of these sponsor offers will depend on the nation that you choose from your company, so for example if you chose America then you may receive an offer from Starbucks and Facebook.
For this game I will be using an edited version of the PCM Daily expansion pack, therefore all the sponsors will be on that database, however I plan to add a few sponsors from other databases. The sponsors will range from Old Teams such as Mapei, to teams just getting into cycling like Starbucks.
Teams will also have to employ staff, such as Trainers and Director Sportifs, After we have at least 18 teams (Inc. Me) with sponsors contracts confirmed, then we will begin free rider bidding, however that is later to come.

Just to let people know there will be a number of rules regarding the transfer period, one of these will be that to prevent one sided teams certain riders will not be allowed to be in the same team, for example Alberto Contador can't be on the same team as Chris Froome, in addition to this Degenkolb can't be on the same team as Kittel. This will be resolved as any team that may provide the top bid for these riders during the free agent signing will be asked which rider they would like to sign and then the rider they don't choose will be given to the second highest bidder.
Although I will give a full report of the rules for the transfers later on, one key component will be the ability for teams to loan riders out to other teams as football teams can do. This can be for a small sum of money or as part of a rider swap, as well as this, transfers will be able to take place during the season, this will range from free rider signing to rider swaps.

Just out of interest does anyone know how to convert a database into an excel spreadsheet?
The database in question is linked in the first post.

Open the cdb with Lachi's Excel Editor v6 and you can just copy / paste the table you want over to a normal spreadsheet
