Transfer Update 1 (29/12/2014)
Transfer Update
The forthcoming weeks promise to be a busy time for the team as we not only reflect on the season gone by, and the highs and lows that were endured, but also look forward to the 2014 season and the excitements that it may bring. However the time has come to say goodbye to some of our valued riders, as they seek retirement or look elsewhere. Thus we sadly announce the immediate departure of the following riders from our team:
Karsten Kroon
Takashi Miyazawa
Timothy Duggan
Anders Lund
Benjamin Noval
We are also looking towards the new season with an eye to improving the overall quality of the squad and focusing somewhat on depth. The following riders either have expressed an interest in leaving, or have had the that interest expressed to them by the management, and are effectively ' for sale' (at a reasonable price of course):
Jonathan Cantwell (Sp 74, Acc 74)
Bruno Pires (Mo 72, Hil 72)
Evgeni Petrov (Mo 73, Hil 72, TT 70, Prl 70)
Rory Sutherland (Mo 71, Hil 72, TT 70, Prl 71)
So as you can see we are looking towards some fairly drastic change at the team, being rather disappointed with our 12th place finish, with less than half the points of our owner's arch-nemeses at Team Sky. Anyway, bring on 2014!

Transfer Update 2 (03/01/2015)
A few days have passed since our initial Transfer Update, a lot of news to update with. Firstly a brief look at the ins-and-outs so far (not including riders released earlier)
Ins: | Outs: | Sam Bennett | Nicolas Roche | Jakob Fuglsang | Jesus Hernandez | Jesus Herrada | Jonathan Cantwell | | Rory Sutherland |
Still on the transfer list:
Evgeni Petrov (negotiations ongoing)
Bruno Pires
We are willing to listen to offers for most other riders, but they have to be good offers! We would prefer rider swaps to money but can go with the flow depending on the situation.
Transfer Update 3 (04/01/2015)
Ins: | Outs: | Sam Bennett | Nicolas Roche | Jakob Fuglsang | Jesus Hernandez | Jesus Herrada | Jonathan Cantwell | John Darwin Atapuma | Rory Sutherland | | Michael Rogers | | Bruno Pires |
Still on the transfer list:
no one (negotiations still ongoing for Petrov)

Team Update
After a long discussion between Messrs. Riis and Tinkov, we have decided to change the team name to Tinkoff-Saxo (as opposed to last year's Saxo-Tinkoff). This change has pleased Mr Tinkov, who has now given us a bigger budget as well as a year's free supply of bears (and vodka, that goes without saying). However both Mr Riis and Mr Tinkov wanted to make it absolutely clear that the team's nationality was still Danish and that we would continue to be based in Denmark and support the young Danish riders; the name change was simply an excuse for Mr Tinkov to give us a bigger budget and to make life easier for the reporters. The recent signing of Jakob Fuglsang is clear proof of Mr Riis' vision in action.

Hey Boss,
I can't wait to start racing for the teamas it is a dream for me to ride for the team, if possible I would like to ride the Tour De Frace in service of Alberto as he is my hero, otherwise I am happy to ride any races where you think I am needed, although the Tour of Langkawi is a race that I would like to ride. I was also hoping that I my get some leadership opportunities if you think I'm worthy.
Thanks
Jamel

Goals Time to announce our goals for part 1 of the season!
Easy: Top 5 Tour Down Under
Medium: Top 5 Tirreno-Adriatico
Hard: Win Volta a Catalunya
We feel these are challenging, but achievable goals that the team will be motivated by and hopefully signal the start of a successful season. Not only that, but we are looking to three different riders to achieve these goals, emphasising our strength in depth and sending out a powerful message to our rivals. Bring on 2014!

Countered goals:
Easy goal: Stage Win Oman
Medium goal: Top 5 San Remo
Hard goal: Podium E3
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Tour Down Under The first WT race of the season always provides some excitement and this year was not an exception at Tinkoff. We had set ourselves a goal of achieving a top 5 finish, and were successful at this, with new signing Dani Moreno getting his season off to a good start, finishing 5th in the overall classification, despite a rather passive race from him - symptomatic of the race as a whole really, after the normally intriguing Willunga Hill finish ended in a rather tame bunch sprint. Elsewhere, Nicki Sorensen, a true stalwart of the team, managed a pleasing 4th place stage finish from a breakaway, but Sam Bennett, sent to mix it up in the slightly tougher sprints was nowhere to be seen throughout the race. However, a victory in the team classification wrapped up events Down Under quite nicely. A goal achieved is a good start to the season.
Moreno looks to break free of the pack on the decisive third stage GC | Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Alexander Kristoff | Katusha Team | 18h26'59 | 2 | Simon Gerrans | Orica - GreenEdge | + 16 | 3 | Arthur Vichot | FDJ.fr | + 18 | 4 | Rajesh Kakhi | Team Champion System | + 22 | 5 | Daniel Moreno | Team Tinkoff - Saxo | s.t. | 6 | Davide Villella | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 51 | 7 | Enrico Gasparotto | Astana Pro Team | + 56 | 8 | Jan Bakelants | OPQS | + 1'06 | 9 | Ion Izagirre | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 10 | Gregory Bernard | Colombia | s.t. |

Hey Boss,
I was just wondering what races you wanted me to do in this season part as I didn't really race that much in the last part, and I think I could do with the racing if I'm still riding the Tour like we did, otherwise a Grand Tour ride is a big goal of mine for this season.
Thanks
Jamel
