A prologue, one hardish flat stage, one very flat stage and an ominous mountain top finish form this c2 categorised race. The GC looks likely to be decided on stage 3, with a behemoth of a final mountain awaiting. Not too many teams make the startlist for a race that is inclusively attended by the continental teams.
The GC favourites:
Arroyo | Rodrigues | Schwab | Raisin | Alizadeh | Jeannesson | Martinez | Bustamante | Kulhavy | Orozco | | Sørensen | Zurita | Villegas
The top sprinters:
Guillen | Peeters | Sabatini | Cano | Uugunbayer | Caethoevn | Angarita
The prologue favourites:

I love the fact Awang gets shirt number 1 but doesn't get considered as a favourite for a Sprint stage
Hopefully Chavanne can carry his form from the Southland Prologue and win the Prologue here and Alizadeh can do something useful on the Mountain stage. A top 5 would be brilliant but a top 10 will do considering how he's performed previously.
Surely ONCE will take this, I'm guessing the trend of Kulhavy attacking and everyone letting him go whilst they mark Arroyo will continue.

Hoping for a top 10 from either Orozco or Zurita, but I fear they may lose valuable seconds in the prologue.

Can't say I brought a strong squad here. If the pace is high on stage 2 Iglinski might just be our best shot at victory though.

I hope that the AI is good in this race and the mountain stage gets decided between the top climbers here so Rodrigues has a shot at the win.
In the sprints we have Uugunbayar. 2 Top 10s of him would be nice. On top of that I hope for a first good prologue by Oba.
Having favourites in every category here, the hope is high that this race won't be a disappointment. |

Hoping for Arroyo to finally get his victory here! Didnt bring my greatest although support in the mountains but dont really see it that necessary with only one mt stage , although i brought two very good climbers including Arroyo. I think I would get most annyoed if Arroyo did nothing on the Mt.stage. Anything Guillen does here would be a pluss.

After success in Algeria for the Euskaltel-Bavaria Team I am hoping that Jeanesson and Parra Bustamante can finally perform. and get a good result. Also hoping that past stage winners Adamou and Menchov can make life hell from the breakaway and mid stage attacks. Need to put a lot of pressure on ONCE here.

Actually, this start list looks rather weak. Only some climbing stars (especially from - of course - ONCE) are here. But the time triallist and sprinters might get easier stage wins as usual...
I'm hoping for a good stage result in the prologue from Hansen who already got a few surprisingly, good results earlier this year and some break participations. It would be cool if Dupont would decide to participate in the sprints, too.
[And as always a late attack of Y.Stoltz ]
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

A nice 5th place in the prologue from Adamou but finishing same time as 3rd he lost a few places unfairly, however all that is decided. Jeannesson not losing more than a second or two to Arroyo and Schwab while Parra Bustamante gained some time. Small time but time none the less. Looking forward to the stages to come.

Not very happy with Oba loosing 10 seconds, but coming 3rd is alright. Very happy with Galedo's result here. I didn't expect him to do so well.
Rodrigues on the same time as Arroyo so I'm expecting a great battle between the two of them |

Quiet start as expected. Didn't bring Barta or Velits so I shouldn't expect too much. Iglinski should do well in the next stage though.

Good ride by De Greef, let's see how far he can get today. And maybe a chance for Peeters as well?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

That was absolutely horrible. What on earth happened to Iglinski?
Anyway, good to see Firsanov did something. 10th is decent for him.

That must be the strangest and most unexpected win ever. Jeannesson showing very good power and taking his first stage win. Hopefully he continues this form into the Mountains where it actually counts.

Darn it Peeters, each time I think he's able to win something, he fails
De Greef riding very well though.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

A very passive day there... hoping we can be more active in the next stage.

Uugunbayar repeatedly disappointing at a sprinters stage, now bring on the mountains! |
