It is no secret to anyone in the Man Game that the pro continental ranks houses more sprinters than you can shake a stick at. Even though this race clashes with another race for the sprinters, Race Horizon Park, there is still an abundance of sprinters here. From the length of the favourites list it is clear that there is no shortage of sprinters. The course is pan-flat, so it is expected that a sprinter will take the victory here.

There is certainly no out and out favourite, therefore the winner may be the one who can benefit from his team setting up a sprint train.i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png BelarusBank Pro Cycling may be in the best position to set up a sprint train as they have two top quality sprinters in Cavendish and Hutarovich.

With a big price tag to his name i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero has to deliver in races such as these, he arguably has the fastest sprint here so his team will be expecting a top result. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Maksimov may not be the very fastest here, however, few will dispute he can get to his top speed the quickest, could his trademark burst of accelartion prove to be a winning move in Malaysia?

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Ciolek is capable of winning this race, his team are in a desperate need of good performances, can he take a much needed win for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pum.png Team Puma - SAP? i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Vantomme, who is very consistant, will certainly be there in the mix up if a bunch sprint is on the cards.

The race organisers clearly rate i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Holloway as he starts as no.1. He is certainly the best sprinter/rouleur here. Whereas i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rbc.png Vanderbiest won't be expected to win, however, on a good day he could challenge for the podium here.

Then we get to the next tier of sprinters. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Corioni is apart of this and can't be discounted from doing something special, especially after the season i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ven.png Venchi - Ferranti is having.

----

Though we are odds on for a bunch sprint to settle the inaugural edition of this race, there are a few rouleurs present who are more than capable of upsetting the apple cart. If anyone were to put in a winning late attack here it would surely be 'the Cancellara of the Man-Game' i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/qst.png Jérôme Baugnies. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Maes is another rider who may show his team colours late on. You never know what to expect, fresh from the win at Duo Differdange we may see a rider from i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Oz Cycling Project showcase their engines late on!

The Underdogs:

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Alpina - Avianca, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Bank of Ireland – Irish Cycling, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Eddie Stobart Pro Cycling, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/flg.png Fletcher - Garneau & i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.png Sauber Petronas Racing are the five continental teams which bolster the roster for this race. Each team has an outside hope for a top 10 result, however, after this preview of the starters all of the continental managers' hopes of doing anything will be severely dashed. But with a good run in the sprint the likes of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Forero, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Drapac, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Renshaw and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/spr.png Awang may surprise many.

So with a mind-boggling number of sprinters present at the start line, who will win the inaugural Man Game edition of Melaka Governor's cup?

My team is basically the same of down under classic and that led us to the victory. Would be optimal repeat that result but it seems very complicated, yet the top10 is a possibility

Great preview, enjoyed that, and hopefully a nice race too! Top 5 would do, but considering Vantomme unbelievable season so far, I don't have high hopes.

Although calling Vantomme 'consistent' is like calling Andy Schleck the best climber of 2014 because he won Tour in 2011. Pfft

We need points. Lots. Soon. How about here?

Podium. And a fricking train for once.

Please, just not a breakaway win (unless it's my team winningPfft)

Lots of good sprinters here, so I don't expect a lot from Corioni. As long as he is inside the top 10 I am happy. Ciolek to win it, I think.

I'm once again quite surprised about the high number of CT teams. I think their race days can be used better than in such flat HC classics which are a must join for all those great PCT sprinters and there are quite some good sprinters in the PCT ....
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

It's C1 not HC, and we're targeting the Asia rankings so have entered everything on the continent except the HC races. And this is one of our Sponsor's home countries.

Here we wont see a breakaway but it wont matter because when it does actually finish in a sprint for 1st, Lo Cicero wont win or finish Top 3. I officially hate this season now, so Im not expecting much.

Alakagom - My bluff has been called! Pfft

knockout - Maybe a reason leading to Evonik being high up the continental rankings!

Will have this report up tomorrow evening and Race Horizon Park up a few days after.

With the sprint train we have here, I am expecting nothing less than a Top 3 at least, anything below a Top 5 will be a disaster though.

Chicchi 129th Cool What a sprint leader, such class, such skill, such speed, such a pure lack of any ability it's amazing he managed to finish the Down Under Classic by now let alone compete elsewhere. I know he's minimum wage and i probably couldn't have got better stats for that but f*ck me he is pure sh*t.

Flip side, Capecchi was ok and Fritsch was in the breakaway

That was convincing. Smile
Bodes well for our #1 season goal in Berlin.

Wasn't there a time when there were trains for the best three, at least best two sprinters though?
Been a long while since I've seen that and subsequently, I'm not even mad we work to catch the break and don't have an own. Priorities well sorted out for this one.

Alakagom
First decent sprint by Vantomme this season, wow, unexpected. Gladly take the 5th in this field, although could have been better. Coq on 17th is a nice bonus too.

Thanks for the quick and well written report Rider.

PS. Valv won't be pleased much at all, but expect more raging to come from Miguel in the next posts Pfft

Kobe to not fail too much!? I expected him about 100 places lower, great result!

Not happy with that at all. I saw Corioni as a contender for top 5 and a definite top 10. 13th is dissapointing.

Congratz to Puma, though! Nice win for Ciolek.

Dippofix
Well, if it weren't for O'Brien showing the jersey, this would go down as a waste of race days. Drapac not sprinting is very disappointing, stupid PCM AI.

WTF 30TH???? WTF???? Fuck off PCM. Thank you. Sad

EDIT: Alak, you we're right. Pfft Sad
