How to choose riders for races?

I am just wondering what is the best way to choose riders for each race?

Obviously some riders have objectives, so they are easy to choose, but how do you fill the gaps? Do you fill it with suitable riders, ones who are on form?

Its hard to plan and get the balance right!


Any tips would be appreciated, thank you!

You can plan a season (in-game and out of it) and basically select the riders you want to ride each race before the season even starts, but I never-ever did that, so I can't really say anything about that.

I am just picking them this way:
- Check whether it's their objective or not
- Check the terrain of a race
- Check their race days and a season in general
- Check the fitness
- Check the freshness and morale

All this is really quick as it's all on 1 or 2 screens and it can save alot of your time (as planning does take a lot of it). Smile

I have an even lazier tactic, at the start of the season I give all my riders with a rating over a certain amount (usually 70) a proper season, based on preparing them for their objectives, I then use the rest of the riders to just fill in any races that need riders. Smile

Don't the riders possibly take hits against their starting yellow/green bars if they've not got a race assigned as an objective?

If so won't you then be putting your guys at a serious disadvantage?
