Hi everyone. It's Mresuperstar.
I have some bad news. I have officially decided to step down as Admin and I'm taking a break from PCMDaily. I honestly don't know how longer or if I'll every have another post again. I just don't have the motivation to find the time in my extremely busy schedule to be active and helpful like I have been over for the past 4-5 years.
Spoiler I can't really see myself being active enough to keep Team CSC-Orbea, continuing the bracket contests, or reality TV games (Survivor/Amazing Race that was being planned).
The Two of Us is in limbo. I always knew it was going to be my last story on the site. I would love to finish it but that's something Ian and I have to figure out. Right now it doesn't look likely.
I've met a lot of cool people, have had a lot of fond memories, and I think I have left a lasting impact on the site overall. It's been fun.
So, I would like to leave one last creative thought I came up with:
The idea is simple. A story everyone on PCMDaily can help create.
It can literally be about anything... that's cycling related.
It's an open canvas, a story that changes and has no defined direction.
Obviously, it could go crazy and people could troll for their amusement.
But, in my memory, I ask that you all work together to create something great. Something memorable. Something that represent the community.
I can say I've lost all hope for the site if that can't be achieved.
And I have told the Admins to lock this thread forever if it gets out of hand.
In a perfect world this wouldn't need any rules but to just get everything
started in the right direction here are the 3 basics rules to always follow.
1. Each update must include some relevance to PCM or cycling.
2. Limits are 175 words, a picture, and (if needed) results per update.
3. Wait 3 updates by other members before you can update again.
That's it. This isn't meant to be a place to spam and get your post count up (none of that matters), it's to showcase your writing ability and
display what this community is capable of creating and imagining.
I might come back in time to read the progress or see if it's closed down.
But, other then that, it's your story. Have fun and create something memorable.
I wouldn't leave you all hanging and struggling for a starting point, so:
Sometimes a story has a vague beginning. This is one of them.
A peloton full of cyclists, each with their own agenda and thoughts.
Tales are told and dreams are unfolded. The ones that left untold...
Only takes a person's imagination to tell their story to the world.
Okay, maybe I would. Good Luck! I wish you all the best of luck!

Spoiler Really sad news to see you go, Mre. Hopefully we'll see you again before too long. Anyway, I'll get this started. Hopefully I understand what to do.
Sometimes a story has a vague beginning. This is one of them.
A peloton full of cyclists, each with their own agenda and thoughts.
Tales are told and dreams are unfolded. The ones that left untold...
Only takes a person's imagination to tell their story to the world.
There are winners, there are losers. There are superstars, who get all the glory, and their teammates, who work harder than anyone else, but get little if any recognition come the finish line. Then, there are the stragglers; the riders who are there to make up the numbers, the ones who hang out at the back of the peloton, when that is even possible.
I am one of those. We watch as the stars take victory, and as they step up onto the podium. We dream of being like them one day, but the harsh reality is, we won't be.
Of course the allure of drugs and doping crosses one's mind. As much as the purist wants to believe, that sort of culture is still rife in our sport. But I vowed when I was young, to never be that sort of person. No matter where I was in the world, I would get to the top on my own merits.
This, is my story

Spoiler Great idea I have to say, but what else to expect from you? Sad to see you leave Mre.
I opened my eyes and starred into the room. The sun was shining weakly through the window on which the steam still was. With a slow move I sat up in my bed. My body was still weak. The mysterious illness that hit me a year ago didn't seem to be completely gone. I reached for the glass of water that had been on my bedside table since I went to bed. With a shaking hand I took a sip. Then I took a quick look at my iPhone, ten unread messages. People worried about me, understandably, because I wasn't what I ued to be. In about a year most days has been spent in bed. Unable to do anything. Drained for power, energy, courage.

I am a person living in a different world as most of you know it. I am a cyclist!
The world of cycling has had enough downs now and I believe we can change things for the better, doping tests have improved in quality and quantity over the past few years, and abusers have been caught more and more. This is the time to show people this sport is becoming trustworthy.
With the open roads ahead, the wind blowing and the nerves starting to come, our journey begins here. Our journey will lead us to great moments, moments we will have to share with everyone we know. But there will also be moments of pain and suffering, the two things that make this sport heroic, but also the two things who have made people taking bad decisions. Our quest is to show people the new generation of cyclists is ready for a fresh start. Let’s just hope the fans are too…
I am a cyclist, a sportsman ready to take on the biggest races, and I will take you with me on my quest.
Spoiler Great initiative Mre, will be weird to not see you around...
This post got Zabel'd but it still fits pretty well...

Of course there were doubts. There always are. My friends, my parents, my whole family. Cycling wasn't seen as an option, it wasn't considered a proper job. At the time, everyone was busy studying for the end-of-school exams, and all I was doing was riding my bike, desperately trying to get the attention of one of the big teams. But there was no changing it, I was as thick headed then as I am now: I needed to be a cyclist, I wouldn't let it happen any other way.
But the worst of all, was my girlfriend. We had been together for about 1 1/2 years, and it was still going well, but we both knew it wasn't going to work out if I were to become a pro. I was putting all my money on the one card, leaving her by the wayside for it. Though she never told me so, I know she resents me for it. Sometimes, lying awake at night, when the racing didn't go well, I still stare at the ceiling and wonder what could have been.

I finished off my glass and rose from my bed. I didn't want to read the messages. I don't know what came over me, but I was more determined than ever to make it work. I wanted to pick up where I left off, but I knew CCC wouldn't take me back after what happened, but I didn't know what else to do. The transfer season was almost over, and I wasn't exactly a household name. I wanted to go off looking for a new team, but I was in no shape to do so. I didn't know exactly what to do, but I knew that I had to get better... And fast.
Spoiler Guys I really think we should pay more attention to the posts other people make. Like one minute the guy's a back-of-the-pack rider, then he's a guy who's been bed-ridden for a year, then he's a guy who's riding his bike every day instead of studying for exams.

I feel like trolling to much, so I'm not going to write the rest of the story but instead say a half-bye? to Mre. Darn, should have read here before I asked about a trade in the FF thread, oh well. Have fun with your time off and let's hope for another great RW season!

Spoiler First off, hope to see you back soon Mre. Great stories, and a nice farewell present to the story community. As a result, I might as well give it a go too.
@Cycleman: Give it time. Everybody first introduces characters, slowly see the developemtn and it'll be fun
Putting up with that old, greedy mobster has been tough enough for the last couple of years, it got worse when I had become one myself. But here I was. Flat out broke, lost in a sea of gambling bets. The only thing I kept was a bronze medal in a sport rarely anyone ever talks about, and if they do, then only because Olympic Games draw all the attention to it. And there were gaping mouths of hungry, crying children. Just my kind of luck. My age placed at the wrong side of 30, I decided it was time for a change.
Enough with that wish-wash, I told them and gave 'em hell. Back to competition. Not at square one, but not too far off either. Yet I was greedy for the success and that sour pain a bike could bring. My advantage: I already had it all once before.
I signed a one-year deal with a continental team, my first race already about to start in January. More a hoax and pr stunt, the newspapers claimed. Truly, some of my closest friends couldn't believe it either. But I told them I was done with my supposed career end. They told me: Quit whilst you're still ahead. Now I reply: I start when I'm all far behind. But I wasn't finished just yet.

Hold on, I'm confused. Isn't every post a continuation of the post before it? I understood it as being like the game one word story, only instead of a word it's a post.
Correct me if I'm wrong of course.

I'm not saying it's different stories, but a story can have different characters.
A peloton full of cyclists, each with their own agenda and thoughts.

Do I blame them for doubting me? No not really, I can’t say I expected any different. Everyone knows what I’ve gone through since retiring and if it was anyone else I’d join that chorus of disbelief and doubt. This was different, I needed this, sometimes there are things you just have to do, and this was one of them.
They say that you don’t know what’s important in life until you lose it, and I never believed them, but now I know better. Others have tried to make spectacular comebacks before and failed but this was different, I had nothing to lose, I’d already lost it all. Now the only thing I’ve got left is my belief and a massive point to prove to myself. So here I am, at the start line for the first race of Career mark 2,with nothing to lose and everything to gain, who knows, I may even win back everything I’ve lost in the process, but today I’ll settle for not embarrassing myself too much.

Oh fair enough. I think in that case we should do something like in The Two of Us to differentiate.
EDIT: Guys, remember the rules. Each post needs a picture.

Right, sorry. Also too long post. Must have skipped the rules. Won't happen again.

I read that rule as you are limited to 1 picture, but it's not a necessity.

What I thought is:
1. At least 175 words
2. At least one picture
3. A result if needed

oh, I read it completely the other way around, as in at most 175 words, max of 1 picture and a result if needed. Using the context that it seemingly limits you to 1 race per post so the others would be max limits aswell.
That said I don't normally write stories so I could quite easily have got that wrong but I thought the idea was each post is short and people needed to work together to get the themes and plot lines to match up.
