Will sponsor money increase/decrease due to performances from season to season?
Or can you only get a bigger budget by getting a new sponsor? |

Yes - if you keep the sponsors happy, fulfil their goals and you will be rewarded. Fail at the goals and money will be deducted.
extra money from new sponsors will depend on their size, goals, etc

If you achieve well enough, so that the sponsor satisfaction is high, the budget for next season will increase. It may also decrease if you don't achieve well enough. No need to sign a new contract for this. (My budget on Bretagne-Séché doubled after a tremendous season  )

SO there is no need to get a "World Class" Sponsor? A regional sponsor will be just fine for World Tour team? |

I mean does a regional sponsor will have the budget to pay for the budget of A WT team or do they all have a wage cap which would mean I would need to find a world class sponsor eventually? Why I ask is that I am thinking of starting up a new career with a custom team. If I start with a custom team at the bottom will I have to change them at some point to increase my budget? |

As far as I know, the sponsor budget will change every season based on the sponsor happiness.
In your example, it would be enough to make the sponsor happy to be able to sign better riders every year. |

So size of sponsor does not matter? So is there any reason for changing the sponsor unless you make the previous sponsor unhappy? |
