Final stage before the 1st rest and what a stage it is. Expecting GC contenders to show their hand for the first time on this Tour!

The only previous finish at La Planche des Belles Filles has been famously won by Sky's Chris Froome who is not in the race anymore.

Exciting day ahead tomorrow

It's also Bastille day so any french success will be massive!

Dont know what to really expect from this one. The only team which should be interested to control and keep it together is Saxo I think, could be wrong though! I think the pack will split sompletely over the Chevreres alá the second last climb yesterday which is a absolutely killer. I hope Contador wants to win, pretty sure he wants, but its not easy to control tomorrow's stage, especially since they are one short and have legendary climbers such as Tosatto and Mørkøv.

The second most anticipated stage for me this year. I abosutely love to see the break form on stages like this with mountains from the start, seeing riders gettin dropped, team puttin helpers in front etc. I think Rui Costa will be big tomorrow, I think he has looked very strong. Also hoping for big performances of Fuglsang (who should feel ok now) and Valverde which i hope wants to peak later in the race due to his Tour du Sud-participation.

I like the look of this stage on the profile at least, with the two relatively long climbs of the Petit Ballon and the Platzerwasel to sap energy from the riders' legs, and then, while still being quite bumpy, approaching the Chevreres, which at about 3km @ 10% iirc is a perfect launchpad for those wanting to get ahead before the final climb. And then of course the 'plank' is also a tough climb. Looking forward to it Smile

Small stage with lots of tough climbs. Will we see Purito going for the points again?
Anyway, from the current Top10 I'm expecting Kwiatkowski to lose some positions, Rolland will have a tough time (after being in the breakaway last stage) just like Machado, and Gallopin obviously. I bet it will be an interesting stage just before the first resting day.

This could be a good stage for Rein Taaramae out of a break after his 2012 performance here, but he's such an enigma now that I have no expectations on that. I'm thinking it'll be Valverde or Contador's day especially with the punchy end to the climb

Well, after stage 9 and because of the fact that Lotto is in Yellow, I reckon that a breakaway will win. Most likely a rider from NetApp, AG2R or FDJ.

I think Saxo Bank will go SKY mode on the last climbs. It doesn't mean Contador will finish the job, but he seemed to take much time on some GC riders yesterday without even trying and easily drifted away from Nibali, but then again. Maybe he just used his high top speed for the last few meters and it wasn't a sign of weakness from Nibali.

I think b3n3v3nt3 ment "short" stage. Wink

Looking forward to the stage, should be a cracker. I hope Alberto will put up a fight to Vincenzo, he has Majka, Rogers and Roche, that is still enough quality to kill majority of other teams.

I think König will try something today, because of his earlier loses of time.
I'll be back

Contador need to attack today! Iam awaiting his attack allready on second last climb.

This could be an epic stage, but I'm afraid we won't see too much before the penultimate climb.

It's quite steep there, so it's not impossibleWink

But I doubt he will do it. Even if he does manage to crack Nibali, then the Italian will come back on the descent, and then Contador needs to go full throttle again.

And if Contador just puts 5-10 seconds in on Nibali on the second last climb, then Nibali will be 30 seconds ahead because of the downhill. So Contador might need to push hard just to get back.

I'm pretty sure that Contador will make sure everything is back together around the foot of the finale climb, and then go full gas with Majka, Rogers and Roche - In that particular order.

I'm also looking forward to see the Sky team. Nieve will be especially important for Porte. Also Gadret will be hugely important for Valverde.

Don´t forget: Contador is a great descender as well.
