Hi,
for probably 3 or 4 years I've had my Private Messages email notification settings set to:
"Dont send me email notifications when I receive a PM"
In fact I still have it set to that, but since probably the start of June I have been getting emails regardless of this fact.
I'd like to bring it to the attention of others so that it can hopefully be fixed.

I have had that same setting and nonetheless it informs me via email. +1

We recently changed the default setting of that field to "Yes". This means that if you haven't set a value, you will receive an email when you receive a PM.
We have not changed the settings of users who have personally set it to "No". So I am puzzled that you have received an email notification.
Valverde: I checked your message options and it seems to be correctly set.
547984: As far as I can see, you have the default option selected. Can you please try changing it to "No" here: https://pcmdaily.c...er=options
I just sent you both an PM. Can you please verify whether an email was sent or not? |

I've got no email, however now my PM inbox wont seem to load
I can see that, but when I click it, or alternatively just click on my Private Messages under my profile the page wont load. Its just a big white screen.

Yeah, some server problems turned up right at the wrong time, so a file transfer ended up with the file on the server being damaged. The host has been noticed about it. |

Server problems are gone and the message folders and options can now be accessed again.
I took a look at the source code and spotted an error in the source code, which means that the default value was not shown in the options when no personal settings were chosen. This has now been corrected.

There seems to be a strange situation. I can no longer see my sent messages in "Outbox". Don't know if this is related to any code you may have modified while fixing this, but just wanted to point this out.

You'll need to turn that on in https://pcmdaily.com/messages.php?fold...er=options
By default, 'Automatically save sent messages:' has always been No in there but it has always saved the messages anyway. Now the forum is actually acting according to the settings in there, which will be No unless you change it

didn't bother making a new thread, original is similiar enough
I've always had the "Notify me via email when I receive a new PM" option on "no" because the e-mail I use is on different computer that the one I usually use. however after 1,5 years I've decided to get a new email and install it on my computer that I usually use and set the prementioned option to "yes" so that I could spend less time on daily altogether waiting on PM's and such.
now my problem is that I'm not recieving the email that I should get from recieving PM's. is there anything I could do to fix this problem?

I guess you should check you spam inbox. PCM.daily mails are considered spam by my provider. |

I've had an issue with this too. I used to get email notifications whenever somebody sent a PM but that stopped happening a while ago. I've since changed the setting and now I do get an email each time, but I'm not really sure why that changed. I'm fairly certain I never opted out of the notifications so I guess the default was changed back to "no". Is that possible?
