For our new series "Cycling Interviews" we have the chance to ask Nicholas Roche some questions.
I guess I doesn't have to present him?
Otherwise: https://en.wikiped...olas_Roche
So you have 1 week (until next Thursday) to ask questions we will pick the best ones out, as every single question would be simply too much, and send them back.

Why did you publish your biography so early? Surely you must have felt like you still had something left, and surely your Top 5 at the Vuelta was exactly that. Comes off as a slightly weird thing to do, publishing it before your career is over and before you won something major.

Wow, great job to get an interview of that calibre guys!
Obviously the huge success of your father has to some degree meant that people are always making comparisons and refer to you as "Nicholas, the son of Stephen". Now with 2 top 10 finishes at the Vuelta to your name as well as the stage win last year, do you feel that you have a bit more of an identity of your own?

What was it like starting a Grand Tour in Ireland. Thoughts on the amount of pro Irish riders in the peloton at the moment with Brammier, McConvey etc at Synergy, Deignan at Sky and up and coming Sam Bennett at Netapp. Will we see more up and coming Irish cyclists in the next few years after your and Dan's recent sucess at Grand Tour level?

Did Stephen pushed you towards being a pro cyclist or was it entirely your choice? |

What did you think about your'e Giro, was it a success or was it a failure in your opinion? Will you be targeting the Vuelta later on this year? |

How much recognition do you get in Ireland as a cyclist? Do people know you as the son of, do they know you are a former national champion/vuelta stage winner or are you pretty much anonymous?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Which cycling memory shines the brighest in your mind - and why?
Why didn't you perform that very well in the Giro?
Did the crash affect your performance?
I was very glad to see you take the 5th spot in the GC in the Vuelta.
How do you feel after getting beaten by Christopher Horner, who just had 6 weeks (correct me if I'm wrong) of training in the legs before destroying his opponents in the Vuelta?
Weren't any of the riders in the peloton suspicious of his performance? Do you believe it is possible to win a GC (legit) with just 6 weeks of training?
(Sorry if the questions remind a lot about each other)
Which rider in the peloton do you admire the most - and why?
Will your brother become the next Contador (refering to a picture from Twitter with his brother, where he wrote: Attacking like Contador!)
Present:
Tinkoff-Saxo - AG2R - Colombian riders
Past:
Francisco Mancebo - Illes balears - Carlos Sastre - Kelme - Robbie McEwen

How is it to ride with your cousin Daniel Martin in the peloton, is he just a normal rider in the race for you? Given that both of you are likely to contest the Vuelta for the GC, can we expect Schleck-type of attacks (despite you two guys riding for different teams), if so, how will those attacks and tactics may look like?
You seem to be have a neck for being/appearing stronger in your second Grand Tour of the year (e.g. Vuelta last year), whereas many riders lack the important percentages after such a feat. Why is that you think?
Do you see yourself more as a lieutnant, domestique or potential leader?
Why is Oleg Tinkov the coolest boss in the world? (Must question please )

Do you feel Irish cycling is reaching an insurgence with quite few stars getting big results from there?
How hard is it to maintain co-leadership in a GT and do you have any experiences where egos got in the way?
How has your experience at Saxo Tinkoff been alike or different to Ag2r?
Lastly, please tell you cousin that some of us here (ME) would squeal like a little girl if he did an interview with us!

What is it like to race on the same team with stars like Contador?
What do you realistically see as being your biggest achievement in the future?

Do you believe Ireland could produce a few cycling stars - or even a GT winner - in the future?
Do you still have contact with other (ex-)AG2R riders?
