Yesterday Johan Bruyneel got his conviction for doping and not doing anything to stop doping on US Postal.
I took this thread up on the new danish commnity www.pcmworld.dk.
But I really would like to have more opinions on this fact.
I read that it was the USADA (American Anti doping agency) that convicted Bruyneel for what he had done. I read this on his own blog. See link: https://www.johanbruyneel.com/blog/art...a-decision.
I really think it is wrong of the USADA to convict Bruyneel, mainly because Johan Bruyneel is a belgian man and lives in the Great Britain. Why was it not the begian anti doping agency or the british that convicted him!
It is simply not goog enought - The USADA has not reason or authority to convict him in my opion!
Of course I think he should have a conviction and years out of sport. But it is just the way it was done!
What is your opinions guys? |

I think he should be convicted but you are right. it shouldn't be by the USADA. That doesn't make any sense. They don't have that authority.

Pretty certain it's because US Postal was an American registered team... but i'll let Aquarias/Isso step in to confirm the exact reason why.
I do know it has f*cking zero to do with residence. Pretty certain nationality has no say either, as with riders it's all about which federation you are registered with. At least it is for riders and i imagine this to be pretty much the same

Contador was initially convicted in Spain as well, while being caught while riding for Astana. I think the Belgian anti-doping agency should convict him.

Does it matter? People like him should rot in the deep dungeons by any laws possible, so they can stay away from the sport they are destroying.

But it's true we don't want any dopers anymore

Unfair? Quite frankly, I couldn't agree more with Avin. Does it matter who convicts him?
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Yes I really think it does matter. Especially if we want to believe the anti doping is gonna work if we look in the future.
I really think that there should be rules so the cyclist/manager is treated within the laws and are convicted in the country where they are resident or their nationality!
And I do simply not understand why USADA did not send the case to the belgian anti doping agency to be done! |
