So, being a beta tester a year ago or so I have the PCM programmer on my Steam friends list, and was thinking to write to him a few things to look at. Whenever I was part of beta, I was focused more on career and they did implement the changes I wrote about and other testers agreed, so hopefully we could do something here too.
Here is some points I was going write:
- After the top favoruites has split on mountain and hilly stages, the peleton stops riding and finishes with a big pack. They should still be fighting for positions even after the favoruites has gone making it more realistic.
- Mid - stage very dangerous breaks allowed to go early in a stage race and not chased hard enough by peleton. While a nice feature allowing nice gameplay it should not be as easy to achieve especially while early in the race where the stage racers have yet to make any gaps between each other. The AI should chase much more. Especially key again, in one week stage races.
Spoiler - Some sprinters not sprinting at all in sprint stages. While in real life some sprinters don't sprint if they know Top 10 is not possible, AI should still sprint.
This one is bit iffy, definitely not a priority.
Anything else? I didn't really play PCM that much so I might be missing other buggy AI features.

Breakaway being too strong, sometimes able to actually gain time on the peloton near the end of the stage, even though the peloton is chasing.
Why's this in the MG section?

Because its strictly about AI really which man-game is. Some people from here can spot few things better from reports and don't look into general forums as well as we already have such thread in general forum I believe.

Good suggestions Alakagom - I think your first two points are crucial, and Jesleyh's addition also worthwhile (at least when break is relatively small, say 6-8 riders or less, in which case bunch should always gain time towards finish). I'd suggest that the earlier this sort of shared experience is fed back, the more likely they'll have time to tweak / respond.
The point about sprinters is also worth considering, but is perhaps slanted more to the MG experience (where lots of us managers get frustrated when our sprinter guys don't sprint) than IRL (where lots of us managers also get frustrated when our guys choose not to sprint!) .

The sprinter point is important imo.
Surely when having less chances to top10, it`s not worthy eventually.
But those, who try usually surprise like Drujon in the Tour Down Under. Why shouldn`t other sprinters go for the same surprise?
There are usually 2-3 teams that get hurt by sending a decent sprinter, who just don`t care.
This only is an issue in sprinter packed fields. But it`s annoying when in a sprinter classic your 78+ sprinter just isn`t sprinting and then getting a 70th or so without points while he could get a top15 for sure.
In races with clashes and less sprinter chances there only might be 7-10 sprinters but in GT`s there probably most teams have a sprinter again and then it sucks, when your sprinter misses all 8-9 chances there, while similar riders are in top10.
Don`t understand why AI is not allowing every team having one rider sprinting. |

Well, I think my point was proven in New Zealand 2. Earle actually gained time on the peloton in the end.

Just out of curiosity, if I may ask, what difficulty level are MG races raced on?
And would that have an effect on the result? (My guess would be yes)

All the races are always raced on normal.

I ask the same? I know that with PCM 11 there were rumors that other teams wouldn't form multiple sprint trains on normal or below.

Higher difficulty just increase stats for all riders basically. So no point.
Plus more importantly a rider with 85 in something could not go above this threshold so would be disadvantaged because a rider with 83 or 84 would be increased to 85 depending whether difficulty level hard or extreme.
With normal all stats stay in game as set in DB.

Thanks for the explanation. Forgot to realize that the MG DB is quite top-heavy.
