There are lots of 2.HC races , but most of them deserves WT , what do you think who deserves it the most and who dont deserve it.. Share your ideas
There are more 2.HC races. This poll just includes 9 of them..

So needed thread...
Anyways, I do think California, Austria and Britain are top on this list. Trentino can be really interesting race, also.

Tour of Britain and Tour of California, but they would need to move them from their current slot in the calendar I think to do so.
3 Days of De Panne shouldn't, it is too close the the Tour of Flanders and would not attract a star studded field, although it does attract some big names.

I really think the Tour of California should get the nod. (aside from my bias) if the cycling world wants to continue to expand they need to give it reason.
The sad reality is there are no WT races in the Americas and that needs to change if they want to promote cycling over here.

WT Circus calendar is already crowded enough like that. Actually I think it's even too crowded, so I wouldn't add further insult to injury.
Most of the races in the poll are good, better than some WT events (China !), but they have legit reasons to not be in, think Cali here, or lack history (Britain f.e.) though PMQ and HV have proved it's not a necessity when organizers can bribe the proper officials.

As someone who goes to 1-2 stages at the tour of california, The crowds here are fucking huge and are bigger then most of the WT races I see on TV |

Tour of California is the obvious choice but I also think Tour of Britain got huuuge potential but the TV coverage is crap! |

Yeah, I know we aren't the biggest cycling country, but it's quite stupid that they plan to add mid eastern races before Cali.

Cali started or became a WT event the second year, but they stepped down because that meant less domestique teams and riders. It's mire interesting for them to remain a 2.HC, that doesn't really remove anything from the race quality. |

California, San Luis, Oman and Gabon, for the globalisation of cycling.
Also: Omloop, Strade Bianche, Scheldeprijs, Brabantse Pijl & Paris-Tours
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Why does every good race need to be WT?

That's quite true. it doesn't need to be a WT race to be enjoyable and have great racing.

Cali would be a worse race in the WT because of the drop in domestic teams. ToB is probably the same, but as it hasn't even been HC yet there is no rush to find out.

If any American race is going to be World Tour it should be USA Pro Challenge. With the right route, it would be able to bring a lot more mountains and I think with that, a lot more real challengers. The Tour of California is great the way it is, because most PT teams send weaker squads, seeing as they have to come half way around the world pretty much, to a race with a rolling terrain for the most part. The weaker PT riders, allows for the top PCT and CT teams to bring their best riders and we usually get a pretty wide open race because of that.

To drop continental teams and replace them with all pro tour licensed teams. Also there will be more points to the uci rankijng and see top riders of all teams. That doesn't make it more great? |
