FC Barcelona is one of the most important multisport clubs in the world. Founded in 1898 by the Swiss born and Catalan adopted Hans “Joan” Gamper this is the third time the club tries in the world of cycling.
The first time FCB set a cycling team was in 1927. At that time they had a first class team with Mariano Cañardo Lacasta (winner of the Volta Catalunya eight times), Juan de Juan and Mucio Joseph Emmanuel Miquel (Spanish national champion in 1927). The team lasted for about 10 years because on 1939 all the Spanish competitions stopped because of the Civil war and at 1943 the team finally closes down.
In 2004 the idea of a cycling team was brought back to set a team of u-23 with the objective of competing the Tour de France in 5 years under the management of Melicior Mauri, winner of la Vuelta on 1991 and runner up of the WCRI on 1998. This dream ended in 2007 after some economic discrepancies and a doping scandal of some of the riders of the team, the team was disbanded.
Now on 2013 a new era starts for this historic section of the club. With a new management an a new methodology, this team wants to be the springboard of all the riders of the area and, given the time, a reference in the world of cycling.

There has been talk at the Euskaltel-Bavaria Headquarters in Bilbao that they are planning on going after a certain Mikel Nieve as a leader for the upcoming season. And considering the teams good transfer budget they are willing to splash some cash.

Team, Goals and Calendar updated.
Short review on the team, we have quite a lack of depht but our point scorers can ride a good amount of days. I'm confident because of that we will be able to mantain the division.
I screw it up with the goals (second season in a row). As an excuse I would say that I had to sign most of the team and I didn't get the rider I wanted (was either Kiservivo or Pozzolovski).
Finally about the calendar, we tried to choose as much hilly/mountainous races and make few small trips into Conti races. Let's see if this pay off.

You've got a decent middle of the pack team, in my opninion. Certainly not a bad team.
Looking at your line-up, i do agree that your goals are pretty hard. Your top 15 PCT goal might be the easiest of the 5. Calender wise, we'll meet each other quite a lot aswell, except for C2 races.

I just realized we are in the very same bands of HC races... not good... I guess Inxausti and co. just go to C1 races, don't they?
