For the second consecutive year, car manufacturer Jaguar and communications service Eritel have joined together to sponsor this ProContinental team. Former lead sponsor Rapha Condor remain a minor sponsor, ensuring that we will have Rapha clothing and Condor bikes!
With national champions from Great Britain, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Eritrea, Gabon, Algeria and Kenya, much is expected of the squad in the 2014 season!

Looking ahead to 2014
There's never a dull transfers season for Jaguar-Eritel, and the exit door will once again be open to at least one of my team leaders.
Dowsett, Bibby and Bennett are set to be the leaders this year. Ensuring they have adequate support could be a key part of our transfers - unless we spot another rider to join them in leadership. Tennant currently heads up the support team.
We have a number of riders who need experience this season. We would like to keep Teklehaimanot in team if it is possible to max him out, but that will not be easy. Certainly our other Level 4 riders will need ProTour experience in order to max out. Many level 3 riders will be able to stay at Jaguar, but we have so many that we may look to either loan out some, or just sell them!
For everybody else, let's wait and see. Chris Froome is most definately for sale, Ian Stannard is also unlikely to be kept. Some riders will be left to the free agency to allow more flexibility for the team in the transfers - and if there ends up being space, we may even look to re-sign them again during transfers.

Scouting report
Our team scout has returned from his recent African travels, and speaks very highly of the talent he came across in both Eritrea and Rwanda. It seems that these two nations could be the core of our focus, although our eyes will be spread across the continent for sure.
Our scout's planned flights to Kenya and South Africa were both suspiciously cancelled. As a result, it appears unlikely that the team will be pursuing riders from either of those two nations.
Outside of Africa, there is plenty of British talent around, although talks with a set of twins were ended prematurely when they had to leave for a meeting with another unnamed team. The team has had a gradual shift away from British riders, and competition has moved in to fill the gap - so perhaps these interests will not be followed up.
And with arguably our best rider set to leave, maybe it will take a rider from further afield to lead the team. Time for the scout to get packing, and to tour the globe?

Quite a coincidence actually. My scouts picked up quite a nasty stomach bug in Eritrea and has refused to return there again. Project: Africa is quite in the dark as to who's who in Eritrea and will more than likely not be bothered with the country.
Although, we might bump heads in Rwanda. One of the team's major sponsors are from there, so we'll see. I've got one young rider which I desperately want from there. A certain punchy rider has also tickled the team's interest - I'm sure he has done the same for Jaguar - Eritel.
Our team is quite happy to reach some sort of a consensus with it's 2 fellow African teams, so some discussion will ensue during transfer season. Goodluck until then!

With the new goal of finding talent around the globe there has been rumours sparked that Jaguar may be intrested in Lachlan Morton and such deal could possibly involve a certain British rider as well. Is there any truth in such rumours ?

None of our flights were cancelled. We liked why we saw in Eritrea but may be forced to leave those to Jaguar. Rwanda also has a few good talents as well and we'll pursue one of them definitely.
Come the transfer season you'll probably be getting offers for Berhane, Hussein and Petrus if they remain in the uncertain category. |

I am thinking Berhane may become a free agent, for a little boost...
@Alakagom It is certainly true that rider sales may involve rider swaps, although we cannot yet comment on particular riders currently, however interesting they may sound! Our priority may however be a more established star, as we don't want to be risking relegation from this very competitive division.

Team ASDA-Savers is interested in the British trio Richard Cleaver, Rob Partridge and Ian Stannard, we see that keeping these riders on British soil could be beneficial for us and their careers

Most riders are listed available by default. Many will end up staying, but some will leave.
Riders released
9 riders have been released to the free agency. Rumour has it that Natnael Berhane, having learnt of his fate many months ago, has really developed strongly over the winter - and may even be a key target for the team in the upcomi transfers.

ProTour teams wanted!
One thing is certain is that Eritreans Tesfar Teklit (75 Hill) and Meron Amnuel (73 Hill) will be going out on loan to ProTour teams this season. With their skill set, they can clearly be very valuable supporting riders for any PT team.
The status of Daniel Teklehaimanot is unclear. We would prefer to keep him, but it may be that we choose to offer him up for loan too. With 75 Mo, 73 Hl and 72 TT, he would be hugely valuable to a PT squad.
Then there are some of our Level 3 riders, who we might like to loan to PT too, in order to reach Level 4 this year. Mujtaba Hussein, Elias Afewerki, Charles Anguilet, Issiaka Cisse, Youcef Reguigui, Philip Lavery and Souheil Khederi. Some of these riders may end up being sold, but if they remain, a loan upwards may be a desired option for us.

Some of those loanies might become interesting late in the transfer season. In especially the stronger ones could be of some help. |

Daniel Teklehaimanot have been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember, but CrueTrue didn't want to sell him to me. It would be an honor to take him on a one year loan basis this season to help him max out.
Tesfar Teklit could be of some use in the PT so we could possibly make a loan-offer for him aswell, but there are no doubt that Teklehaimanot is the top priority here.

Major scoop for Jaguar with new signing
In fantastic news, it can be revealed that Natnael Berhane has signed for Jaguar-Eritel under a wage of €200,000. He rode for us for the last two seasons, but was released at the end of the last season. His stats transformation naturally interested us, and we entered into bidding for him.
He will surely go down as one of the best value climbing free agents of the transfer season. Similar riders have certainly been seen to demand a higher wage.
After a fairly anonymous ride last season, it seems that we can look forward with great interest to this season's Tour of Eritrea!

That must be one of the best price/talent ratio so far.
Really happy that he found his way back into your team.
African market went pretty anonymously here I guess. |

Nice signing there with Berhane! Saw his wage was relatively low at 200 000, but I just didn't have the heart to bid you up with a few hours left! Besides, I'd like to see some nice battles between him and Augustyn!

Jaguar-Eritel over the years
A look at who the Top 8 ranked riders in the team have been over the years. We have had a different best rider ever season, and bar the 1 year fling with Ignatiev, it has always been a Brit. Much has changed over the years, but the recent African influence can clear be seen by last year's Top 8. Chris Froome never did manage to be our best rider, with his history of 2nd, 9th, 4th, 2nd, 2nd.
Top 4
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 2013 | Bibby | Froome | Dowsett | Tennant | 2012 | Bellis | Froome | Blythe | Dowsett | 2011 | Blythe | Cavendish | Swift | Froome | 2010 | Ignatiev | Swift | Kennaugh | Wiggins | 2009 | Wiggins | Froome | Hammond | Swift | 2008 | Hammond | Casper | Wellens | Wiggins |

Having only one non-Brit as one of your top 4 point scorers the last five seasons is massive. Very impressive! |
