Hi fellow managers. I was bored and decided to make a map based on primary nationalities in the Man-Game. There has been a lot of discussion regarding the inflation of new south-american teams, british teams etc. so I wanted to check out the whole man-game universe. Which territories are over-crowded, where can we find potential for next year etc.?
There was a lot of interesting things, f.ex 3 PCT-teams listed Venezuela as primary nationality, but only 2 teams (in the entire game) are based in Italy. Only one single manager in PT are not working within Europe (dave91's Wikipedia squad), while the majority of PCT squads are working on other continents. The new managers have spread out mainly in Europe and America, but is also represented in Asia&Ocenia. In fact, only the African continent has yet to see a new team start there this season. Seems like the scaring tactic of Project: Africa and Kenya Airways might be working
I followed the 2014 Team Continuation thread to make this, and I don't know which city all the different teams are based in, so I basically used the capital + the major cities if there were more teams within the same country.
There might also be a couple with wrong division, as many people left it out in the scheme, but I tried to figure it out my self.
The plots are coloured in this format:
Red: PT
Yellow: PCT
Green CT
Europe 47 (I think, difficult to count )
North America: 9
South America: 6
Asia: 5
Africa: 3
Oceania: 3
This shows me that South-America is not overcrowded in general, but rather Venezuela and maybe Colombia. There are also some with secondary priorities here, but it just means that they need to work it out between themselves on the continent, and try not to focus entirely on nationality as that can be difficult and lead to extreme wages.
Also, some of these teams are specialized in other ways than nationality and may make less influence on their territory.
I just made this for my self, to learn more about the Man-Game, but I thought I could post it here as well.
Well, here it is, hope somebody else also finds it interesting
https://multiplottr.com/?map_id=47524&47524&
(Use your scroll to zoom-in and left-click on the plots to see the team name)
EDIT: I will update the map once the last teams have been made official.

Nice idea!
If you want to be a bit more accurate regarding German teams (even though I don't know their intended HQs in the game):
Rothaus is located in the Black Forest, both Allianz and BMW are in Munich and VW is in Wolfsburg.
We are based in Herzogenaurach in close proximity to the Puma (and Adidas) HQ.

I like how you've dropped my team directly next door to a police station.

Great thing Bjartne, very interesting! The Lowlands are incredibly crowded, but on the other hand the ridrs pool is great there. We need some Turkish teams (but with no doping policy).

I agree, there is extremely crowded in the Benelux area, but they are doing a great job not in cancelling each other out. F.ex Pokerstars goes for sprinters, Gazelle for puncheurs and BPost for cobblers, so they can live in harmony with each other, in addition to the great pool of quality riders available as you mentioned.
It would definately be cool with a Turkish team. To be honest, I would love to see another central american team (Cuba?), a central asian one (Uzbekistan?) or maybe a northern african team (Tunisia?) being created |

Yep, those places you mentioned should be painted with MG colours!

Nice view indeed. And the lowlands have enough riders, but the most important thing is not to get too hung up about nationality. I have some Italians and even the Albanian national champ .
Check out my ManGame team here

Keeping in mind the fact that almost no riders with any talent come out of those countries. So I understand why people dont have teams based there.

Turkey has a rider with potential for 80SP, Cuba has one of the best CT stage racers, Tunisia has one of the best PCT puncheurs and Uzbekistan has a few decent riders. Better than Taiwan or Mongolia for example |

There are some talents from Cuba (Granjel Cabrera or something, and Bru on my team. And most likely someone I forgot :-p), and from Tunisia (Ben Nasser, Chtioui). So there are some. Also, SN are known for adding talents from strange places :-p
Great work Bjartne, I like how the community does small things like this. Makes the game even more enjoyable. If now could only find a way to get rid of all the other dots in Germany...

Well, the riders do not fully represent the real life (Thank god). Most people have a rider they want, no matter what (Gesink, Kelderman or Boonen) and that decides their focus

When I joined Santander was the only Spanish team, I managed to pick up Guerao for 50,000 as a free agent.
Now I feel like I'm being crowded out of my own market.
Also, Italy used to be the most overwhelmed place in the man-game, now there is so much room for more teams.

Well, Italy looks pretty empty, but many teams have italian leaders and riders. I have Italy as my second focus and that cannot be displayed on the map...

Yeah, several teams have an Italian focus. Even Meiji in Japan, so the map doesn't give the full picture, but I still find it interesting. If there are any teams that need to be corrected, please state it here. When all teams are corrected city-wise, then it's easier to spot rivals, even across borders |
