TOTC5: Position guessing game.
At the end of each stage I will state a position in the top 20 and you have to guess which rider finished there based on the report. Multiple people can guess the same rider if they wish. You are allowed one guess per stage, if you guess correctly you will receive 5 UC points.

If you guess the correct rider:
2 stages in a row: you receive 10 UC points on the stage
3 stages in a row: '' 15 UC points ''
4 stages in a row: '' 20 UC points ''
5 stages in a row: '' 25 UC points ""

If you do a team presentation to a high standard you will receive 15 UC points before the racing starts. IN TOTC4 presentations from Jesleyh, Atlantius, Cycleman123, Shonak, mvhoogdalem, Dippofix and Ollfardh are good examples of good presentations which would have been awarded with 15 UC points.

The Team

This is in many ways the strongest T-Mobile team ToTC have seen yet. We have the winner of the last edition Adam Hansen. This time around he will most likely be working for Paulinho though. As in the good old T-mobile days we now have ambition in both the GC and the sprints with Hinault coming on board.

The suuport riders have been selected with special attention to the TTT and with focus on them being able to handle both the cobbles without falling completely apart as well as being able to still have some energy in the 4th week.

Full Roster:
21. Sergio Paulinho
22. David Boily
23. Gregor Gazvoda
24. Adam Hansen
25. Sébastian Hinault
26. Martin Keizer
27. David McCann
28. Travis Meyer
29. Marcel Wyss

Team Iberia

We're back again for this new TOTC!

The team
Iberia is Spain's biggest airlines. It was founded in 1927. It now belongs to one of the 5 biggest Airlines of the world.
Iberia has been participating in the TOTC program since the second edition. We have especially been succesful in the third TOTC, when we were one of the top scorers, with an awesome TT squad.
We have a sixth place in the overall standings, which is decent.

The Leaders
Spoiler
Would have been The Squad if I had the stats Pfft

Sylwester Szmyd
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC/TOTC_Szmyd_zps0988e595.jpg
Will be our absolute leader. Might be the best climber of the whole field, though he has trouble on the flat and a lot of trouble on the cobbles. Both the hills and mountains will be all his.
We'll be looking for a nice spot in the GC, but we're not sure if he survives the cobbles.

Dmitriy Gruzdev
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC/totc_Gruzdev_zps55f02f91.jpg
A TTist, and a fairly good one. He's one of the only TTists than can also climb, and that might be fairly useful in the end. He can go for Top 5s in TTs and will be a great help in the TT.

Oliver Kaisen
i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u660/jesleyh/EPIC/TOTC_Kaisen_zps48752b76.jpg
Won't be a real leader, but an important rider. He's good on the hills and a good TTist, which is certainly of help in the TTT.

Others:
Danail Petrov - Puncheur/Sprinter
A.Furlan - Sprinter
D.Gabrovskyy - TTist
M.Codol - Climber/Puncheur
J.Louder - SPrinter
Y.Huguet - Fighter
M.Miholjevic - Climber

Targeted Stages:
Spoiler
Would have specified if the photo was working Pfft

1. TTT - We have a strong TT squad, is it strong enough for a Podium spot?
2. Mountain Stages - With Szmyd, we're forced to do something here.
3. Hilly stages - Szmyd is one of the best puncheurs here, but also, Petrov can also do a lot here, also having a good sprint.

"Danny Pate doesn't cycle. He orders the bike to carry him forward."

Correct, Danny Pate will be riding another Grand Tour this year, simply because he's awesome. He will have to share leadership though, as we payed a record high 2.300.000 to contract Johann Tschopp. Rejoining us again as well from previous TOTCs are Juan Manuel Garate, as top mountain domestique and Baden Cooke, who will lead us on the cobbles. Cooke will also launch the sprints for Danilo Napolitano, who is aiming for a stage win. Benoit Drujon will bring our sprint train on the rails. Next we have two experienced allrounders, Aleksandr Kuschynski and Benjamin Noval. These guys know what to do and when to do it to get our leaders in perfect position. Last of all, there's Ondrej Zelinka. He's the retarded nephew of our race director. No one else picked him (for obvious reasons), so we took him in hoping he doesn't ride into a ravine at some point.

The Squad

ASCANI, Luca

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2012/CQM2012002565.jpg
The Italian will hopefully be a useful support or aiming for stage wins, either way should be good.

BARGUIL, Warren

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2014/CQM2014017627.jpg
The young Frenchman, already winning le Tour de l'Avenir, is going a step higher this year. With his good climbing skills, a nice result should be possible.

KRIVTSOV, Yuriy

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2012/CQM2012000231.jpg
The French Ukrainian will be a domestique here. If he wins a stage though, it's not a problem.

MARTENS, Paul

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2014/CQM2014003587.jpg
Basically born to hunt stages. The German is a good puncher and has a good sprint and time trial as well. He'll be important for us.

PUZANOV, Dimitri

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2009/CQM2009007708.jpg
The Russian puncher will be a domestique here. Hopefully he'll live up to his role well.

SCHEIRLINCKX, Bert

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2012/CQM2012000648.jpg
The Belgian will also be domestique here, mainly on the cobbles, to help out his brother.

SCHEIRLINCKX, Staf

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2012/CQM2012000517.jpg
Will be the sort-of leader here. In case he gains a lot on the cobbles and doesn't lose much time in the mountains, he could surprise us very well here.

STEEGMANS, Gert

www.cqranking.com/men/images/Riders/2014/CQM2014000352.jpg
The final rider of our squad. The Belgian sprinter will be helping on the cobbles, but he obviously aims on the sprints. He should be capable of a good result here.

Our goals

1-STAR GOAL

Show attacking spirit by being in at least 5 breaks.

2-STAR GOAL

It may not bring many points, but for the prestige a top-3 in the U-25 classification would be a great achievement for Warren.

3-STAR GOAL

A real success however would be some real results. That's why we want at least 2 stage wins or a top-10 in the GC.

-Introduction-

The men behind Cartoon Network have the joy of looking back on two highly successful Tour of the Chosens. Their first participation at the TOTC 3 started a bit off but it ended great with two stage wins in the second week. Cartoon Network has already proved there what they are capable of, and they are ready to fight for everything.
TOTC4 was than nothing short of amazing: A total of 3 stage wins, the points jersey and Cyril Lemoine in the Top 10, despite Mosquera's failure in the overall classification when he dropped out of the race on the cobblestones. The Tour hasn't been kind to the team, but they continued none the less.

Now it's time for Cartoon Network to once more show its strength. What was once a childish joke has become the most feared running gag in the peloton. And this time around, we are sure to be the ones who laugh the most.

25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m52gd7OPSv1qcvvvlo1_r1_250.gif

-The Team-

José Serpa will be our man for the general classification. He is a very strong climber but can also hold his ground over the course of 4 weeks. He may lack in TT and COB but the team is sure to support him as best as possible.
Tom Veelers will be our fast-man, and god damn - he really is fast. Additionely, he is also a formidable northern specialist thus having surely lots of chances in the heated finales of the many cobble stages. Surely he is to be considered a favourite for at least half of all stages and who else can say that of themselves?
Sébastien Rosseler is a true heavyweight when it comes to cobbles and Time Trials and therefor a man much in need. He was quite cheap for us and we are extremely happy. He will have domistique duties, but will also have the joy of following his own dreams of winning a stage at the cobbles.
Lasse Bochmann was one of our most wanted riders and thankfully - we got him. The Dane will be a much needed help in the mountains for Serpa and be ready to protect him at all cost.
Cyril Lemoine was a true blessing at the last edition's TOTC, where he deservdly was voted into the Team of the Tournament. Now it's time for him to shine once more and repeat his stellar performance. We all know him, we all know what's capable of: Cyril will be a man for everything; domistique duties, stage wins, lead-out duties, maybe even aspirations for General Classification again? The competition may be stronger than last time around, but Cyril is just as unbreakable as last time.
Bert de Backer is another familiar name. He will be mainly a help for the flat stages which see lead-out duties for Veelers, as well as a needed hand on the cobble stages, either for Veelers or Serpa.
Tom Stamsnijder: We already wanted him last time but couldn't get him. Now we have him. He is a great allrounder and will help the team especially on flat staegs and in the TTT.
Dominik Roels is another TTT addition, which can also stand his own ground as a lead-out man or as a possible stage winner out of a breakaway.
And yes, breakaway wins? Of course, Cartoon Network remain true experts of this craft, and thus Jürgen van de Walle, already winner of a stage at TOTC, returns too to take on his domistique role, while also hoping to snatch one or two stage wins again for the team.

i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b543/Sh0nak/cartoonNetwork_zpsbd1fe39f.jpg

-Philosophy-

This time around it holds up when we say: We spent some big cash! A total of 2.100.000 PCM$ has been invested to secure the services of the three top riders in our team. There's also lots of continuity to be seen, which can also be interpreted as a sign of our gratitude: 3 previous riders from the last T.O.T.C. are at the startline for our team. Cyril Lemoine, Bert de Backer and Jürgen van de Walle surely deserve this opportunity to once more impress.

While our focus has always been to provide much excitement to the racing and be competitive on all sorts of terrain, we believe that this edition sees probably the most balanced squad. We got it all! Supreme climbers, excellent cobblers, time trialist and Cyril Lemoine, a man who has already proven he is capable of just about anything. Especially compared to last edition, we have decreased our TTT weakness and look forward to provide Serpa with a good position after the first week.

Make no mistake: We are still the hungry, stage-hunting big, bad wolf you have come to respect, but with about 28 stages up for grabs even we realize that all the time attacking might not be the best key this time around. And even so, there is only one way for us: Up. This means that we will want to even more improve on the fantastic results on the previous two editions so expect a true assault of Cartoon Network riders and GIFs in the coming weeks.

Borussia Dortmund is the world's favourite football club as they always give 110% and have the best fans in Europe.
After seeing that multiple other Bundesliga clubs have teams in different other sports (like Hamburger SV in handball and Bayern Munich in basketball) the club decided to start their own cycling team.

In the last years the team was always aggressiv and showed their team spirit in the team time trials but this year the squad has changed a bit. We have added a bit more international touch to our squad and invested in both: top-tier riders and young, unknown talents.

- Belgacom -

Belgacom will make its TOTC debut in the fifth edition of the race. Being provided a jersey by the new cycling jersey manufacturer Gruppetto Azurri, the team is going for making the sponsors proud.

The Team

- The Leaders

G.Henderson

Henderson is the man for the sprints. He is looking for stage wins in the last two weaks, when his good recovery will be a key factor.

A.Moinard

Moinard is Belgacom's man for the Overall Classification. He is aiming for a TOP 10 spot. His biggest handicap is his disability on riding on cobbled sections.

B.Hermans

The only Belgian on the team is the guy for short ascents. In those stages he should be conisdered as one of the main favourites.

- The Leadout -

Ó.V.Grau
T.Thömel
C.Van Heerden

Those three will build the leadout for sprinter Henderson, South African Van Heerden is here the strongest man.

- Uphill Helpers -

G.Brenes

Gregory Brenes will be the key helper of Moinard. In the worst case he would even be able to take his spot as the team leader.

M.Ardila
M.Bono

Ardila and Bono were randomly assigned to the team. Both will be domestiques on uphill roads.

Swiss Life

“You are such a stupid bastard, I should never have hired you!

- dear mister Schwartz, how are you today?

- Bad, you can see by yourself, as I am as red as our shirt!
i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/_swi_maillot_zps87b17cca.png

How could you have missed Tschopp and hire this Belgiam moron? We are named Swiss Life not Belgium No Life!

- I have noticed it but I though the goal was to perform the best we could.

- And you think De Weert stands any chance against the great Tschopp? Especially he was not so expensive at the end of the day.

- Well, as a matter of fact I do. I prefer De Weert to Tschopp, we will see if I am right.

- But I have been told you have bid 1,900,000 for Modolo, I mean Modolo, really?

- OK I can explain the strategy. It was my mistake to miss the deadline for Swift then we didn’t have any sprinter and 1,900,000 left, the bids were tactical, either I get a sprinter or I move up in the scale of the unused budget.

- Brilliant tactic poor moron! So now we don’t have good leader, we don’t have sprinter and our TT specialist is just ridiculously weak too!

- I do think we have a great leader and I believe he could easily do better than Tschopp and why not win it all?

- I take your word, if he is not beating Tschopp, you are fired!

- Hm, I was expected to get fired anyway, at least I have a good chance to survive now!

- By the way let’s ear your objectives!

- You know the team, don’t you, but let's have a look in more details:
i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b552/riderrider92/SwissLife_zps93b6237f.jpg

We have De Weert our leader the plan is for him to start well in Mountain and Hills and to kill the pure climbers in ITT and cobble stages. He could win but a Top 5 is a more realistic objective.

Then we have Bodnar, he can win the prologue, he can get good places in ITT and will have free cards to go in the breaks.

We have 2 sprinters Miyazawa and Cardoso, not the best of the field for sure but good enough to get good places in the sprints.

Then comes a trio of climbers/puncher: Augustyn the strongest, Aldape and our team captain, Valjavec, they will for sure help a lot our leader in needed and can also get in a break and why not win a stage? The real challenge will be to survive the cobble stages.

Finally we have 2 pure fighters: Bernaudeau and Parra, they will be team mates and if they get a shot to a break away they sure will take it!

So we target:
Shock Shock Shock GC Top 5 Shock Shock Shock
Shock Shock 1 stage win Shock Shock
Shock 5 stage Top 10 Shock
Shock A top 5 overall UC Shock
