Here I am again, with a report from the C2 Ranks, a truly entertaining division that, when not dominated by Gazelle, guarantees action and enthralling racing.
We have a saying in the language of Danish. When something's odd, foreign or just plain incomprehensible, it is "a city in Russia". The same goes for the venue of this race. It's not incomprehensible, foreign or odd per say, but it is indeed a city in the great land of Russia.... and it's got hills in it.
Team Gazelle is here and they have just the team for this kind of terrain. Weening is the leaders and he is backed up by some strong helpers in guys like Minnard, Kriek, Daspuntsag, Furdi, Lalouette and Mugerli. Well that's as a matter of fact is their team for this race.
Talking about something else than Gazelle, we could spare a few words for a guy like Dietmar Mehr-Wenige. A true powerhouse of a German with a tractor engine inside of him. This course suits him perfectly. He is not exactly a climber but he is very powerful and since the gradients aren't that steep here, he could very well win this.
Another rider who could win is Joaquin 'Purito' Rodriquez. He likes slopes steeper than the ones here, but there's still a lot of climbing and with his acceleration he could grab hold of this race with a perfectly timed attack.
Then there's Eduard Vorganov of Privatbank, Perikles Ilias of Magna Airways, Cioban of Ekspa-Cispion, Golas of Credexbank and Popov of LukOil. These are the remaining team captain apart from the three top favourites already mentioned. They will need a bit of tactical ingenuity if they want to stand on the top step of the podium.

We're here to win, unfortunately, as usual Mehr-wenige not have great support from the team and that can make all the difference. Still everything is not a place on the podium will be a disappointment

Strong startlist. Finally another Weening, Purito, Mehr-Wenige battle.
I don't expect Weening to win his first one day race of the season here as he just can't seem to do that. But I certainly want a podium finish from him.
Nice creative intro, nico.

Amazing win by Vorganov! Congrats hoekie!
We shouldn't have let a break with Iberia and Adira in it go. The team lacked some power at the end because they had been chasing for the entire race with just one team backing them up a little.
Weening did his part, beating his biggest rivals. Had the team not failed that would've resulted in a win.
I'm glad he still reached the podium though. And that the domestiques grabbed some points for us as well. Pretty good result.

Awesome
I knew Vorganov was capable of winning a race, and he hadn't delivered yet...(Mostly due to being too aggressive...) Also with Fonte up high I guess we scored decent points to get close to our top 10 CT standings goal.

Nice win for Vorganov. Top effort by the break aswell to hang on and get in the points still, despite being caught

I'm a little disappointed with fourth place Mehr-wenige, but extremely happy with the classification of Paulinho which ultimately compensate, and make this a good race for the team..
Vorganov was excellent and got a big win, and thanks for the report niconico
