Slightly later than billed, the Tour Alsace will be on it's way soon - raced last month, but report writing has been delayed by far too many final year Uni exams!
Interesting parcours on paper, but not a lot of teams have turned up - as per usual in C2 this season. Rohregger, Larsson, Marzano, Menchov and Martinez will lead the GC charge, with Sprinters such as Maksimov, Lay and Dekkers here too. Two mountain stages, a hill stage and a TT - all round skills will be required to win this one.

Maksimov and some oversized speedbumps, cool...
Hoping Mestre can deliver here.
Quite a brutal train I have here btw... Athanasiadis - Cardoso - Lima - Maksimov... Cardoso and Lima could be lead sprinters aswell...

A rare pure c2 race - rohregger us my favourite for this one though Menchov and Marzano should challenge.

Demare looks like the sprinter for Magna on paper here.
I'm hoping the AI sees it the same way and he can latch on somewhere on stages 1 and 3, while stage 2 looks perfect for Arnaud if there is no big selection.

Marzano should have a decent chance here. As long as he doesn't lose to much on the time trial he should be able to gain some time in the mountains. Hopeful for some good sprints by Lasca as well. Probably a bit too flat for him. |

I like this race. It takes a great all-rounder to win here.
Good luck my fellow CT'ers!

Very good! I was disappointed at first to see Demare being punched out of the train, but Maksimov opening so early meant that he could use slipstreams for a long time and overtake the fading leaders.
Now I hope that the good GC position means Demare tries to hang on tomorrow to be there in a reduced sprint field.

A crucial race for us, need results here as I suspect Utah, Faso and Paris-Tours won't be as fruitful for us. We'll need some luck there to go up anyway. Martinez or Ndbri needs to pull off a podium I suspect as September has been horrific for us so far.
Not expecting much from the early flat stages, with us focusing only on the GC. A good start with no-one losing time. Good to see Marque in the break.

Lol @ Maksimov. "I can do this myself, who needs a lead out train."

Maksimov in general hasn't been too great... He dominated at Southland, but my train had too many of these screw ups... Like Cardoso deciding he should be the lead sprinter or suddenly making Ansons more important than Polivoda...

That was easy enough. Mostly shocked by Hezacky though, who doesn't help out at all, but still ends up in 6. place. How he ended up there is beyond me.
Chance of Lasca keeping his yellow jersey? 0.6%
The job on the next stage will be to not let Marzano lose time. |

I think Marzano will be the man to take this GC and Rohregger will us the TT ability to keep Menchov away from the 2nd place.

Demare with a nice result. I think I've used him badly this season, but he's had some good results here and there.
We are obviously here for Rohregger in the GC and this is arguably one of my strongest squads with both Rohregger and Naibo here for us.
Some strong competition though, so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

The point I like the most about the C2 division is that older riders get a chance to still ride as a leader.
So it`s nice to see Kim Kirchen still taking a win here.

Brilliant to see Kirchen winning! As roturn said, it is one of the great things about this division.

Happy for Kirchen indeed, but that was a bad timing to have a subpar day.
Oh well, I just maxed Demare in a few different ways, that always makes me happy again
