Anyway, my problem:
In my 6th season with Team Saxo (now Volkswagen) they game completely fell apart. Emails, race schedule and most of all, the constant crashes, really made this career near to unplayable. 3D stages, AI, everything else seemed still to work though.
I hoped that with a new career it'd get better again but the game still crashes regularly. I have reinstalled so far the game two times and it still happens. Since the game worked perfect the first couple of months this is even more weird. Maybe somebody can help me with this error? The constant crashes are frustrating, to say the least.
This might help to narrow down the error:
-I install first the game, then Patch 1.4.0.0. Afterwards PCMDaily 2013 Update, the Graphical Update and then the Post-TDF Update. (In my first career I only installed the PCMDaily 2013 Update, the other two updates came with the first try of reinstallation - might as well include them too).
-I do change stats in the database. At first I always changed the database of the savegame (STA_Cyclist_Progession, Sponsor Maxium Year - I want known teams in my career for a little bit longer than just 3-4 seasons, some rider stats as adjustment). In my last try I edited the database before the start of the game, it still seems to crash (I only simulated 2-3 weeks so no idea if these are regular crashes in the new career - but probably). EDIT: I edited the database in the Mod-file in the documents folder, is this the wrong way?
-I tried new XML files at some point (where the regular crashes already occured) to decrease young rider potential a bit. By now, the old XML files are back again though.
The crashes mostly occur during the career itself, meaning when I am in the management part. It does occur between simulation of stages, I don't particapte in. It also seems they happen when I sometimes do nothing at all but I can't say for sure. Lately the game surprisingly even crashed 2-3 times during the load screen for a 3D stage, however it doesn't seem to do that anymore.
I have played/tried following teams:
-Team Saxo (first career, played until 2019)
-Lampre (2x times, until Giro first season)
-Euskatel
I use a Windows 7 Laptop. It does fulfill minium requirements and I do play on lowest settings.
Does anybody have any solutions, workarounds or maybe just knows the source of the error? The game itself is great, however I lose all my willingness to play on obviously. I did think about playing the game without PCMDaily updates, however looking at the raw game by Cyanide I rather prefer to just not play the game at all (it's way better with PCMDaily Updates)
