So, I am not much for the actual race simulation. Its good, but just isnt me, much more interested in the managing part.
I play my seasons, two of them withut a single crash whatsoever, no bugs or anything,, but when I start third season, the game literally falls apart on me. Tried re-installing and so on, but its the same, third season of death is upon me.
At first it.s little bugs, things I can live with because I really dont want to waste all the time I have put into micromanaging everything for two whole seasons, bringing my 2 star rated continental team to the pro tour.
At first, its bugs like duplication of messages, once in a while they get posted between 1-10 times, identical messages. Then the calender screws up, giving me a long list of races so I dont have that period overview. Then a few crashes sneaks in slowly, no biggie, reloading the game and playing on.
Around july third season, halfway in it starts to pick up badly with bugs. When a rider comes back from an injury, its the name of a rider not even on my team. When I need to renew the contracts, its the same deal, getting messages of riders not on my team wanting to renw their contracts, when clicking them the contract renewal window opens and its completely blank. A little further into the game, the other teams starts to sgn my riders as they werent offered a new contract.
Next thing, buttons like accept/delete vanishes on messages vanishes on me at times, and at others, clicking them does nothing.
Then when quick simulating stages, at the race tactic screen, theres no riders showing up, and thus I cant click simulate, having to go through 3D race to continue.
And the icing on the cake, after a few more crashes, the database just gives me the punch of disaster. Rider names are replaced with $CYCLISTNAME. Team names become $TEAMNAME and so on.
As said in the beginning of the post, it's like the game simply falls apart in the third season, at that point being completely unplayable for me. Re-installing dosent help at all. Never experienced this with any other game, and I play lots of manager type games, with heavy databases and such. I have no idea where the error lies, just that I am left with a disappointed feeling about what could have been a great game for me, had I been able to progress beyond third season.
The thing with the calendar is a known bug which starts from the second season. You can only use the calendar once, if you go back after, then it is all screwed up. This should be fixed in the next patch hopefully.
I read about the $CYCLISTNAME also in this forum. You should find the post easily using the forum search.
Maybe most of these problems come from the same source, the crash. If you always continued your career although the problems, then I would not wonder. You should try to load a backup from the weeklysaves folder which is dated before the games shuffled the riders.
But I think it would be best to post your finding in the official forum. Maybe Cyanide can figure out the problem and resolve it in future patches.
I thought that would be obvious. Copy the file from there to the save folder.
Save folder: my documents\pmc12\users\your name\database\solo\name of DB\
Thanks for that, though it still keeps screwing up, crash, and all the aforementioned errors pop up. Tried diffirent weekly saves, but the end result remains the same. It's impossible for me to determine when the "Mother error" appears in the game, that leads to all this. Experienced this on several diffirent playthroughs now, disappointing.
