August 2013 - Nominations
Summary: Famous for his great David Veilleux saga, valverde321 decided to take a totally different approach and surprise everyone by taking a small Czech Republic team many members had never even heard of in his return to story telling. And he has since then over the past month turned them into a household name. Sound familiar?
He did the same thing when he brought us Mr. Veilleux.
Excellent pictures, writing, and surprisingly good results for a weak team make this story our first nomination for the story of the month (even though I'm listing all the stories in alphabetically order.)
Summary: The "looks who's popular" photobucket bandwidth problem struck down tsmoha at the end of the month but that didn't stop this experienced writer (and perhaps is a telling sign why his story made it here). After his highly successful Team Dark Dog story he decided to make something complete new, a kind of man-game expansion. That said "Don't be Afraid," the MG-relation isn't overbearing so just stop in and follow your favourite team/cyclist.
What makes this story so unique has to be his report formatting. It's pleasing to look at and organizes the information well making the reports easy to read (well when the photobucket squares are gone).
Summary: Crossing over the 100-page landmark this month already puts this story into elite company, so why not add the my first story of the month award. Nordic Cycling saw a busy month in which we got to witness an exciting Tour de France (in 2015) cheering for a guy named Willy and concluding with the start of the Vuelta.
The sheer longevity and speed of the reports is stunning, and there is just something special about cheering for the underdogs from the Nordic countries.
Summary: Unusual is the first word that comes to mind when reviewing this story. Now in the year 2019, Qatar Optics has been picking up steam and ended up reaching the Tour de France by the end of the month. In France something "epic" happens and well something tragic too! No spoilers.. Go check it out.
Also, I can't end this summary without bringing up the pictures. They make every report interesting to read and can be rather humorous, so props to The Rider for the effort he puts into them and the creativity behind it.
Summary: A PCM.Daily created riders story shown through videos seems like an instant fail within a few weeks (from past experience) but over the last month brewers90 has challenged the odds by keeping it updated. Pushing through the early months Bunzl-Centrica has just reached March so take a seat and watch all 21 installments to get caught up.
The effort put in to create these 15-20 minute videos has to be recognized along with constant commentary making every video easy to sit through. Plus keeping all the stat gains in check makes this story the last nomination.
Honorable Mentions: Team Type 1, Team ABUS, Once upon a time....

First of all: thanks for the nominee will be a tough challenge against those other stories, but it would be nice to win this award some day! I've already plans for getting more people involved next season, and maybe this nomination helps as well. The photobucket squares are a real pain in the a** though
Will get my vote in now. Nice idea this, as said before (somewhere)!

Thanks a lot for the nomination, It really gives a boost to the motivation!
Don't forget I also introduced Johann Nokvasson as the first Icelandic rider on an UCI-podium when he took the Vuelta Mountain jersey on stage 3 - a big month for the team!
Now there's just left to hope that someone will vote for me...

Thanks Mresuperstar/ other admins I'm really glad that Qatar Optics has received this nomination, so what ever happens from now on today I am thrilled.
Nice presentation of the choices/ will be interesting to see if any more get added and to see how many people will vote. |

Some good picks there, but I think it's pretty clear who I'll vote for. Also, I have a question Mre; how will this work with your story when it returns?
AnywayN hopefully my story can get a nomination too soon, as it moves towards the second half of the season. |

Well, I'm not a fan of nominating my own story so if I feel it had a good month I'll probably put it in the honorable mentions. I'll try to keep a level head when picking the stories so don't worry.

@Mre Well, if it'd have continued, I probably had voted for that this month, you should really nominate that when it continues.
@Valv I think it's the number of posts made in the thread this month? Not sure though

How do stories even get that many posts? Those numbers are huge.

My story has gotten less than that many replies the entire time.
I can't complain though. I have at least 3 loyal followers.

Great initiative this one, i will take part as the voter in next months, as i did not have a chance to follow stories properly in August. But i have my favourite and i have a feeling that he will get the prize anyway.

28 Votes so far and the current winner only has 8 votes. Very, very, close. Keep the votes coming, every one counts.

Exited to see who wins (though I don't consider myself a favourite).
Won't be voting though as it would feel weird no matter if I voted for myself or voted for someone else
