The Profile/
Time for another flat C2-classic and this time we're heading for Eastern Europe: Belarus. 199km from Mohilyow to Cacersk, with several short hills and a tricky finish.
Some pure sprinters may have kept their fingers off this race due to those climbs, but the first edition of Zimnyanya GP still features some prominent CT-sprinters in it's startlist..
The Starlist/
The Favorites/
10 teams subscribed for the race and so it could be some easy points for most of the equipes here. Let's have a look at the team's leaders or dark horses:
Gert Steegmans should be Banco's undisputed leader, even though he has some strong support in Marco Guillén, who already proved to be a reliable sprinter when he's on his own. Maybe the best duo here, so definitely a top-seed.
Same goes for Die Berg Komt Er and their sprinters Rizza, Abakoumov or Hochmann. If they manage to work well together and setting up a perfect train, everything is possible. Even though we haven't seen too many Berg-trains so far this year.
Hans Dekkers - winner of Dorpenomloop Rucphen - already proved that he can beat Steegmans in a flat classic. He's one of the best sprinters in the CT and should be a real threat. If Thorsen survives this 200km, he would be a great leadout.
Saulo Lay will try to keep his team's success and should definitely aim for at least the podium.
MTN nominated both Abdallah and Day. Both of them are capable of doing well in such a classic, so maybe the daily form will tell, who's leading the team.
Polivoda, Bozic and Mironov lead three East European squads, hoping for some surprising success. Same goes for Jorgensen, who needs a very good shape and position to score high.
Last but not least: local team Credexbank will be looking forward to this race, for sure. And the squad has several options: Papok, Kankovský or also Clarke know how to sprint and with the audience cheering for their colors, motivation ain't a problem here.

Thorsen surviving 200km's and making a lead-out tsmoha? If that happens, I will laugh so hard at PCM 12. No offense Jaxika. |

Ehm... Yeah...
Wonder what happened there
3rd is a good result for Polivoda, and 10th for Cardoso is decent, though on one of the screens it looked like he was being blocked...

Pcm continues not to have Anton Martin leading out Lay. But can't be unhappy with the outcome! Very good positioning from Anton Martin in Steegmans wheel, a shame he couldn't come out of it. 2nd plus 7th gives very good points, I'm a happy man!
Thanks for reporting!

I fell sad for Jaxika. The game putting to work for Thorsen is ridicoulous to a point of no beyhond. |
