The Brits vs The Aussies, one of the biggest sporting rivalries across the world. Can Australia regain the urn? |

Siddle gets 5 and we start terribly with the bat. Blast. Hopefully we can get a first innings lead. |

That was tense! Anderson was amazing as always - he'll get 50 wickets by the time the series is over
Great timing too - finished about 5 mins before they started climbing the Ventoux

Biggest rivarly that noone outside those two countries cares about?
I know British go mental about Ashes, but I have never ever heard outside of cricket other than Britain.

It's big in all the former British colonies pretty much. And it can be played on the beach, which adds to the fun. |

Yeah there's about a billion Indians who are cricket fanatics. India-Pakistan in a way is a much bigger rivalry than the Ashes

Sooo, will England actually need a 2nd innings here? |

Who suddenly taught Australia how to bat? We might actually have a chance this test. No wait, that is getting a bit ambitious, as that depends on us batting well for our second innings.
Might at least be a closer game than the last two however. |

I'm going to Old Trafford tomorrow, and hopefully there will be more going on than England defending time and time again.
The Aussies are well on top at the moment, and could enforce the follow on in we don't hang on long enough. |

I was there on Thursday. Not the most interesting day of Test Cricket ever, really!

Don't think there's any doubt that England will retain the Ashes, just a question of when. If they avoid having to follow on here, then the weather will probably ensure a draw. (Hope you get lucky with the rain FroomeDog!)

Not expecting the Aussies to surge enough to put the overall result of The Ashes in doubt. However, it would be nice for us to claim a result somewhere along the line. Bit more interesting if the underdogs can put some pressure on the top dogs, whether that is England or Australia. |

I'm really hoping that the forecast is wrong (heavy rain from about 2 onwards) |

Could blame one for wishing so, considering how painfully dominant Australia were during that golden period. |

Had a great day out, despite the bad light and rain towards the end. Saw 10 wickets and 300 odd runs as England tried to salvage something. Had some great fun
If Australia declare overnight and we knock off a few runs early it could get interesting. Mind, the weather forecast is terrible so a bore draw seems most likely. |
