The C1 classics continue in Germany with the Rund um Bad Harzbug. The unusual route should provide an interesting race. This is the first edition, so the winner will get the chance to write their name into the history books.
Although this isn’t HC race, the startlist is packed full of the top Pro Continental puncheurs. The full allocation of 20 teams will start, and of those only 3 are Continental teams: Vattenfall, ANC – Halfords and Japanese - Korean Cycling Project. There is only one home team which is Rothaus – Aegon.
Moving onto the riders, we start with one of the biggest favourites which also happens to be from Germany. Aleksandar Flugel leads a strong Volkswagen - Mapei squad, which also brings support for him in Matthias Kessler and Lasse Bochman. Who knows what he could do with the crowd cheering him on.
The home team Rothaus - Aegon, who will also have that advantage, also bring a strong team. They are headlined by Jonathan Bellis, who has a great record in the past, but could be upstaged in this top class field. Simon Geschke also travels in support.
Moving onto riders from foreign waters, the strongest must be Francesco Ginanni. The Italian leader of Vespa will fancy his chances, even if there are so many other big riders. Gabriele Bosisio and Matteo Montaguti also come in support.
A fourth big favourite to look out for is ING’s Nicholas Roche. He could be called the best rider in a tough race and if the race is very hard the field must watch out for him. He doesn’t have any support of note however, and his DS has made the strange decision to bring pure sprinter Kip along. Surely he can’t survive the race?
Of course those are just the very best. Many more riders here will be hoping for a top 5 or even a win with some luck. Names of note are Cyril Gautier, Jeremy Roy, Patrick Sinkewitz, Aleksandr Efimkin and Alex Dowsett. |

Ginanni has been very strong, but a rider with a strong kick uphill , like Bellis, can prove very strong. That's my bet. |

Winning here would be awesome. But not too sure as the competition is tough here.
Flügel with his national bonus or Sinkewitz should be strong as also Roche and Ginanni.
Top5 definitely is wanted. |

The reason why I decided to send Kip was... well non existent! I'm happy that Roche managed the podium despite perhaps lacking a few percent from his very best.
Thanks for the report FroomeDog - It's nice to see the MG up and running again

Disappointing race for my team...
Bellis should have been higher. |

The competiton was far too strong for Gerdemann. Top10 would have been great, but 15th and 19th is ok.

Well, that was better than expected for Der. After a weak ride in the Schwarzwald Classic, a 7th place with such aggressive riding is really good to see.

Excellent race. If Efimkin can continue podiuming in his remaining races, I might still be able to avoid relegation with some luck.
Thanks, Froomedog.

Thanks, Froomedog.
He can win all those out of Asia, but he needs to stop blocking my goal.
Great report, feel sorry for Bpost as Gautier underperformed again. |

BOOOOM! Finally a victory for Sinkewitz. Vueling in a good period, generally speaking, too. Promotion dreams not buried yet |

Congrats CT, the final part of the season is going to be interesting for your team.
For us it's good to see June's bad run terminated, with Mendes back to his old days. Great to see him do 6th. Ventoso keeps his record of mediocrety though.
Also very good report Froomedog. You've become a nice addition to the team

AMEX is pleased with our results here in Germany. Two riders in the top ten is a good result for usin this race.
