Hello,
Has anyone been trying out different difficulty levels and their influence on the realism of the game yet?
I have just been playing on medium and I find it too easy to get good results with mediocre riders but I am afraid that on higher difficulty levels top riders will have a hard time winning races or getting good results.
So did anyone experiment with it yet because I don't have enough time to try this out alot.
Thanks. |

Hello, welcome to the forums.
Easy tends to give the player results that are extremely unrealistic.
Medium is good for players who desire realistic AI results, but the player can win quite easily with decent riders.
Hard is where it gets tricky. AI results will be realistic for the first 30-40 positions, and then it gets strange. The player experiences realism with his best riders, but will have issues keeping worse riders in the peleton.
Extreme is not realistic. AI results become scattered; figuring that Froome will win by 10 minutes or something. Player will have issues keeping anyone but the best riders afloat.

Thank you very much.
I think I will be giving the hard difficulty a go in the races that not directly influence the sponsor objectives and see how it turns out. |

Actually it just affects stats, not gameplay at all. i forget the exact numbers, but this is it.
Easy gives you a distinct advantage via hidden stat boost over others
Normal is pretty even
Hard gives a small advantage to the ai, but that makes results more realistic
Extreme gives a substantial advantage to ai in stats

Hard seems most realistic to me. Keeping worse riders in the peloton isn't that hard at hard to me. And PCM is more fun when it's really challenging anyway, you get a lot more satisfaction from a good result on a higher difficulty level.

Difficulty only affects stats of other riders in comparison to your team, so it only effects rider positions on your team,
Also, Extreme isn't so hard that riders win by 10 mins. It is a challenge but if you are up to it it can get realistic results. Also, there is more satisfaction when you win (at least there is for me anyway). |

Is there already an editor to change the amount of each difficulty? |

You can do it with any editor (except the one which comes with the game).
Somewhere in this forum should be a thread about it also.
Just remember: Change it in the database to modify all future games. Change it in the save to modify your actual career.

If there is an error when opening the local.cdb then please post it in the thread of my editor (my signature) so that I can fix it. |
