It was eleven more than necessary.

13.5 km from the cat 2 Col de Marsolino to the finish. Not sure what that descent is like but this looks like a good breakaway stage and maybe some shenanigans on the descent for GC riders. Taramae, for example, may wish to launch himself off the side of the col or be upended by a group of pilgrim ants as they cross the road.

I noticed Cimolai ended on 4th (if my list is correct), who is this? Could he repeat it? Never heard of him, and when I googled him it seems like he's a sprinter (according to wikipedia)

Heh, who the hell looks riders up in Wikipedia?
Yes he is. Quite good in getting over those hills - at least this season - so actually not that much of a surprise that he was in the mix.

Yeah someone called it before the Tour started that this rider would do okay in the Tour. Can top 10 against the big shots.
Tirreno-Adriatico (WT)
Stage 3 » Indicatore (Arezzo) › Narni Scalo
67th Vuelta a Espana (WT)
Stage 2 » Pamplona › Viana
This from way back in 2010
Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey (2.HC)
Stage 6 » Fethiye › Finike
But seems now to be able to hold on over the hills very well, unlike others who we keep hearing can!
This stage looks like it will a really tough one, I think GC guys will be in action.

It makes me even more happy because i choose Cimolai for my fantasy team. Pretty good hillier sprinter.
This could be for a break or great descender.

Cimolai, it was expected that he would surprise here. Has been riding around with Pozzato in his wheel all spring, now finally gets a chance to prove himself

This looks like a stage totally made for Sagan, I can't see him and Cannondale missing this one.

I hope we'll see some fireworks from GC men, like yesterday. Sagan can just slipstream along and kill them all with a final sprint/attack |

I have Gerrans high up my bets for today aswell. Kwiatkowski seemed strong but I doubt he will attack for yellow. He will rather be sprinting for it if Bakelants gets dropped from the small finishing group.
I could see Julien Simon doing well again today also.
And my free bet of the day goes to Fedrigo for no obvious reason.

Geraint Thomas really struggling apparently, could barely get on his bike this morning, that will be a big blow for Sky and an advantage for the other GC teams |

The breakaway group is looking kind of strong today:
Westra
Minard
Vuillermoz
Gautier
Clarke
They already have 2:30 over the peloton. |
