The Tour of Japan ends with a stage in Tokyo. Completely flat, Marquez' lead should not be in any danger today.
All sprinters who survived the hilly stages feel like they can win here. Peeters, Giacoppo and Ferrari are the biggest favourites.
Tankink, Altur and Puussep are the early escapees. With no mountain or intermediate sprints today, they are only there for some exposure. They create a gap that tops at 4'30 with 60 km to go.
Two teams are working at the front of the peloton. Risa and Repsol for top favourites Giacoppo and Ferrari respectively. This will be their only chance to fight for the win after stage 2 turned out to be too hard for the pure sprinters.
Bad news though for Repsol as Agudelo who was sitting 17th in GC has to abandon after a crash. Repsol loses some valuable raking points there.
Puusepp and Tankink attack away from Altur when they see the peloton approaching but it's of no use as they are catched with 5 km to go.
Risa forms the only leadout train. Breen is leading with Ziesler and Lander in front of Giacoppo. Rasmussen is right behind the Risa train while Ararshiro sits next to him, still protected by Sano. Peeters, Bibby and Ferrari follow next.
Sano isn't just protecting Arashiro, he is leading him out. He starts to sprint with 2800 metres to go and will need an incredibly long sprint if he wants to bring Arashiro to a perfect position. Peeters moved from the Risa train to Arashiro's wheel.
Lander took over from Olsson, Giacoppo has one more teammate left in front of him.
1700 metres left and Arashiro starts his sprint. Still a long way to go to the finish line. Peeters, Bibby and Ferrari follow and are in perfect position. Giacoppo feels that Lander can't keep up and has to start his own sprint aswell with Rasmussen in his wheel.
Under the kite and Peeters has moved next to Arashiro who already starts to fade. Bibby tries to move next to Peeters as Ferrari stays calm in his wheel. Salleh, Sai-Udomsin and Costa are in a good position aswell and could surprise here.
Giacoppo's acceration was rather weak and didn't bring him anything closer to the front.
500 metres to go. Bibby couldn't keep up with Peeters so Ferrari moved next to him into Peeters slipstream. It looks good for Peeters as nobody from behind seems to have more speed. Rasmussen on the left side is coming fast but reaching the podium already seems hard.
Peeters takes the win! The 2nd Japanese team also wins a stage here. Ferrari stayed in his wheel but could never pose any real threat. Bibby takes 3rth which gives him 8 bonus seconds plus the sprinters jersey.
Fast finishing Rasmussen takes 4th with Salleh rounding out the top 5. Big sprint result for him.
Arashiro and Giacoppo have to be happy with 10th and 11t respectively after starting their sprint to early.
What is this. Castano is in a chasing group? Ardila Cano is in there aswell. They just got dropped from the pack in the final sprint. No crash, no mechanical problems. That is a stupid way to lose a podium place. They lose 1'49 there which makes them drop a few places in GC.
Marquez wins the overal with Ji in second and vBibby in third. The Brit took 8 second today which would have put him next to Castano hadn't he lost time. He drops to 9th while Ardila Cano drops down to 15th.
Bibby takes the points jersey after regular top 5 finishes. Watson is the KoM after a strong break on stage 3. The youth jersey is for Teklehaimanot while it's no surprise that a very strong Meji squad wins the team classification.
