This might sound a bit odd, but are there any (good) comic book series about cycling? Preferably fiction, not for example a book about Fausto Coppi.

I read one recently. It was about the early times of the TdF but about a fictional rider (if I am not mistaken). This is the French version: https://www.bedeth...teils.html

L'inconnu du Tour de France from the Michel Vaillant author. Don't know it is what your looking foor as I remember it had parts about riders like Coppi, Gaul, Ockers and Bobet aswell.

There's this, not a comic book but a story at least, dunno if it's any good: https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Yellow-Je...1558214526
And of course The Rider is a great story.

wacko - Are these fiction stories or real life stories?
Thanks for all hints so far, I can read French quite well, so I already have some books added to my shopping list.

Roald Dahl - De fantastische meneer Goss
Annie M. G. Schmidt - Zabeltje
(only funny if you speak Dutch )
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I think I got something for you Ian.
Last December I was at the FNAC in Antwerp and I saw a comic book called 'Wielergek'. If I remember correctly, it contained one-page and two-page cycling comic cartoons, in the same format as Quick & Flupke (another Belgian comic book series).
I just did some googling on it. Fnac.be sells them. It appears that the comic series is of French origin, and is called Vélo Maniacs originally. Here's some pictures and videos I found:

VIDEO
Actually, as I'm googling while I'm writing this post, I think I found something even better for you:
https://www.wieler...ripboeken/
This website mentions three very interesting comic books, one about Coppi, one about Pantani, and one about Paris-Roubaix. I'm not going to google these further individually, but you may be able to find where they are sold.
Edit: Here you can order the Coppi comic from the publisher's website: https://www.silves...ionissimo/
Pantani comic here, same publisher: https://www.silves...o-pantani/
Publisher of Roubaix comic: https://www.uitgev...deel1.html
Did a google search for a webshop that sells it, found this: https://www.lambie...nkenbrood/

There is a Superjhemp about the Tour de France... Great fiction with an obvious ending to the Tour (After all it is from Luxembourg ). But its also only in Luxemburgish!!

Thanks a lot!
Only thing is that most comic books are in fact "comic" books.
I would love a comic book series that's more like a graphic novel or something.
Doesn't really exist yet, if I could draw, I'd start making those

Wow, okay, thanks a lot for looking! Will definitely buy "Vinkenbrood", looks nice from what I've seen so far.

Vinkenbrood looks nice. It is from the same artist as the book I suggested.
I have to see if I can find a version in a language I understand.

Wow, i just found something awesome!
Warning: Not suited for underage people...
Now that's something you could enjoy reading at night
As I'm quite a comic book fan myself, I'm thinking of digging up some cycling comics. I'll post any updates here.

I have about 1000 comic books but I care more about the quality of the drawings and story than about the topic.
The graphic novels about Pantani an Coppi might be interesting, but I don't care much about funnies like Les Vélomaniacs.
