I don't want to start a discussion about who deserve it. I just wanted to share with you Messi's outfit for today

If you want to start the discussion go ahead, I'm sure there are tons of opinions in one way or another. There wansn't a thread about it and I just found the suit a good excuse

Well, I think that Messi just deserve it, and that he got no opposition...
I mean, come on, 91 goals... And yes, it's in La Liga, and the positions 10-20 are quite weak in La Liga, but if you compare him to C.Ronaldo, he still made way more goals...
What's maybe mentionable is that the whole world XI plays in La Liga btw...

Messi deserves it, but my vote goes to Iniesta. Euro '12, need I say more.

Messi does deserve it, however all 11 being form La Liga is stupid. People like Suarez and Pirlo deserve to be there IMO |

Well, I agree with that, but if you look at Euro'12 only, it should be Pirlo...
And Messi can't help that he didn't participate in Euro'12...
@Froome: Agree, but I didn't say that I thought it should be all La Liga

@Froome Well, it sounded like you did
Never mind... Conclusion is that Messi should just be the winner, and that some guys from other leagues should be in World XI.
Just one thing I don't agree about with you: Suarez in the XI, instead of Zlatan or RvP?

I watch him most weeks and he is amazing, he totally carries Liverpool. He's totally underrated . Zlatan only had that one game v England, I haven't seen him play well elsewhere. RvP plays for Man U so I just hate him in general |

Doel: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)
Verdediging: Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Marcelo (Real), Gerard Piqué (Barcelona) en Sergio Ramos (Real)
Middenveld: Xabi Alonso (Real), Xavi (Barcelona) en Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona)
Aanval: Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid), Lionel Messi (Barcelona) en Cristiano Ronaldo (Real)
It's from NUsport, and Dutch, but I guess you guys(and you of course loky) can figure it out...

No Pirlo That's just ridiculous! The guy carried Juventus for the whole year! He was the best player at the Euro's and now he isn't even in there? Where is Chiellini? And Kompany? What a weird list...

Having Xabi Alonso there and Not Pirlo? That's just ridiculous. Also Chiellini has been alot better the Pique. Also what the fuck is Marcelo doing there? |

My thoughts exactly Casillas is as well debatable, no doubt he's still one of the best keepers in the world, but especially the last half year wasn't his best, I think. Although I couldn't exactly say who else deserved it more. I'm a huge Buffon fan, but I didn't follow the Serie A much, so ...
Also, I think Frank Ribery deserve a mentioning. I mean, he's unlucky that his position is also the one of Ronaldo, but nevertheless, he played on an amazing level this year and I'd say he's one of the best, say, six or seven players at the moment. I'm no Bayern fan by the way. Not. At. All.

They might as well call it La Liga team of the year. It is clear they don't want to put any other leagues in there, it is disgraceful. Pirlo should probably be in the ballon d'or shortlist never mind leaving him completely out of the entire team. Also not a single player from the winners or runners up in the champions league. Fifa really needs to look at some of the world class players in other leagues as well as la liga. |

I'm really surprised they didnt give the fair play award to Luiz Adriano
About the team its not because la liga. Its because barça and madrid.

I know of quite a few sport commentators who probably tore their c*ck of while watching the award show.
Messi deserved it, no doubt, but I'm a bit tired of this constant praise of Messi and Barcelona.
