The spanish bank company decided to sponsor a cycling team in the 2012 season, which is based on Spain and Italy. They gave us a budget to sign top quality riders so we can compete in the Pro Continental Tour in our first season.
Igor Anton
Anton is our best rider when it comes to climbing, whether it be hills or mountains. He will be our leader in the Vuelta if our application gets accepted, and any Ardennes classics we get invited to.
As we all know, he lacks the ability of Time-Trialing, so he has to do well in the mountains instead.
Domenico Pozzovivo
Pozzovivo is our second best climber, who will lead plenty of major stage races himself, or help Anton on some occasions.
The italian also does not like the TT bike. Not even a bit. His aims will be stage races with not a lot of TT kilometres.
José Rujano
Rujano is basically a slightly worse variant of Pozzovivo, but he is a very valuable member of our team.
He will have similar goals as Domenico, so we will see him leading our team on various occasions.
Mikel Nieve
The spaniard is our last big climber, who will also get leading roles in some races, but he will also have to face the "super-domestique of Anton" role in a few races.
Filippo Pozzato
Pippo is our one and only leader for all the cobbled races we enter. He will have some riders to support him, but he has to rely on himself if he wants to accomplish something big.
Francisco José Ventoso
Francisco is our best sprinter, who is not scared if the finish is not exactly flat. He will be the main sprinter in every race he enters, so hopefully he can deliver some nice results.

What's unique about this story?
In the first season, we will send scouts all around Europe to find the most promising future rider of the era. After we sign him, we will follow his racing very closely and he will also participate in the blog writing himself.
Additional information:
Spoiler -It's my first story, so don't expect Ian Butler (or similar) level of entertainment
-Any feedback is highly appreciated
-I have some (quite a few actually) reports pre-written, so you can expect daily reports fo the upcoming days
-I will try not to lose motivation for a long time, but you can help with that by following the story
-I might (/will) be busy after the winter holidays, but I will try to do daily reports for the most time
-Again, feel free to post!

Tour de San Luis : Preview
Route
Spoiler
Flat stage, mass sprint expected
Again, flat stage. Again, it is for the sprinters or a lucky breakaway.
This is where the first differences will be made with a bigger climb at in the first part of the stage and a short but steep climb at the finish.
This stage may crush some riders' dreams, since it is a 19,5 km long Time Trial. Again, we can expect some differences.
The hardest stage, the GC will be close to decided after this one.
Features a bigger climb, but we can expect a sprint or a lucky breakaway.
A stage most likely for the sprinters

Well, it's no problem for me, the story writer gets more motivated this way. It's fine

Thank you for the great responses, it really gives some motivation.
FroomeDog99: Thanks, hope you will be enjoying the story!
Miguel98:: Thank you, sir. I will do everything I can to make this story last long.
the_hoyle: Thanks! I wanted to create a strong team for the Pro Continental division, but not an overpowered one, which could dominate even the ProTour. Only time will tell if I accomplished this goal
Jesleyh:Thank you! Yes, indeed he is strong in this one. To be honest I'm kind of lazy about updating the databases and also I got used to the stats of the riders in this version. Hopefully the results won't be too unrealistic.
kimiopn: Thanks. I sent scouts to Portugal too, so there is a chance that that future star will come from there
FroomeDog99: It's actually not edited, it's just an older version, where Anton looked more promising than he really is |

Really love the team. No real TT riders right? That's good, sounds like an exciting team. Now let's scout those talents and make this one hell of a team!
Best of luck, will definitely follow closely |

Ian Butler: Thanks, I was counting on you to follow this story! Yes, I found myself playing passively in the mountains when I had a leader, who was really good at Time-Trialing. So this should bring some action! |

Tour de San Luis : Stage 1
A flat stage with a mass sprint finish expected. The breakaway members will probably take the points in the first two Intermediate Sprints.
Gerdemann, Nerz and Mangel broke away right at the beginning.
A few kilometres later Ochoa broke away from the pack and gave it all to join the BoTD.
He managed to join them in less than 10 kilometres.
Both Intermediate sprints were easily taken by Mangel, since he was the only sprinter in the breakaway.
The break was cought by Lampre and Farnese-Vini with 25 km to go. We began to set up our Italian sprint train. Here you can see Brambilla pushing the pace.
Luckily we managed to trap the train of Lampre in a slight turn, so they had to follow Sabatini.
Guarnieri and Favilli gave a perfect leadout, and Sabatini finished his job easily, and took the well-deserved stage win for Banco Santander Cycling.

Note: This was my first report written, and since I have some more in my pocket (pre-written) I can tell you, that things will change a bit for the next ones, it will hopefully get better! Also, it was after San Luis that I realized that normal difficulity is too easy for me and swapped to hard. But we will get to that later!
