Hello everyone! This is my first attempt at writing a story on PCM daily so I hope it goes well. I know this might be quite similar to other stories out there but I thought I would start simple and see where it goes. I might not have much time to write this story but I'll keep going - I assure you it will settle into a slow and steady pace
Well, I hope you enjoy it and... ONWARDS!

Hello, I'm Matthias Fischer, a neo-pro German cyclist and I've decided to create a blog about my cycling career. I hope it makes for good reading and I also hope that I can achieve some good results in the future.
This is the picturesque village/town of Rottach-Egern in southern Bavaria where I was born and grew up. As you can see, there are some formidable hills around the area and the Alps are not far away at all. I would consider myself as a stage racer type person, its very early to tell yet, but I know that I like climbing and I'm also handy in a time-trial (well, at least I hope I am).
I am very proud to announce that I will be riding for Team Saxo Bank for the forthcoming season. I was very surprised at the offer as I was aiming to be contracted for the German team NetApp but I will be able to race in the World Tour and that makes me really happy! I look forward to working with all the members of Saxo Bank over the season - especially the steak-guzzling Contador when he returns from his ban

SEASON PREVIEW
TEAM SAXO BANK
Ins
Roman Kreuziger
Alexander Kristoff
Matthias Fischer
Outs
Benjamin Noval
Luke Roberts
Mads Christensen
There's been a bit of a shake-up at Saxo Bank, bringing in Czech GC man Kreuziger and Norwegian sprinter Kristoff. The team felt that with Contador out until the Vuelta; Saxo Bank would not be able to compete at the other two GTs and so have enlisted Kreuziger to fill that role. Kristoff also enters as a second main sprinter alongside JJ Haedo to give us the points boosts we need to do well in the World Tour.
MY CALENDAR
January: No action for me in January, just assimilating with the squad!
February: My first race - Vuelta Ciclista a Mallorca - and I'm really looking forward to it!
March: My first World Tour race - Paris-Nice - it should be a blast and I hope to impress upon the big stage. After that it's down to Corsica for the Criterium International.
April: One of my two peak months for the season - I am going to ride as a domestique in the Ardennes classics! That is, Amstel Gold Race, La Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Then to take advantage of my fitness, I will ride Tour de Romandie
May: A well earned rest while some of our folks are off at the Giro
June: Returning to Switzerland its the Tour de Suisse then National Championships
July: I will be off to the Tour de Pologne
August: Late August will see my first (and hopefully not my last) Grand Tour - the magnificent Vuelta a Espana
September: I will continue in the first week with the Vuelta, but after that its another rest
October: End of season rest time!

Simon Clarke became the Australian champion in a tough race, fending off Cadel Evans and Michael Rogers
The Tour Down Under was won by Christian Knees with Arnaud Demare winning three sprint stages. It was a disappointing TDU for Saxo Bank, with Kristoff failing to deliver in the sprints and our best placed GC man, Nicki Sorensen, finishing a measly 27th.
However, the Ruta de San Luis brought the taste of victory to our team for the first time this season, with local favourite JJ Haedo winning three stages!

VUELTA CICLISTA A MALLORCA
STAGE 1 PALMA - PALMA
And so onto the first race of my professional career. The first stage is terribly flat but is a lovely little circuit around Palma in Mallorca with nice views out over the sea. We're hoping for Kristoff to do well in the sprints here and then Chris Anker Sorensen to punch away in the hilly stages later.
At the start line next to Daniele Bennati, surely one of the favourites for this race! The noise from the crowd was unbelievable and I was ready to go!
Cycling along in the middle of the peloton, next to the shiny azure blue Mediterranean Sea - what could be better?
The pace was very hard at the start of the race and it took the break quite a while to form itself; but I managed to bring myself up alongside Bennati, who told me how nervous I looked at the start! Certainly true!
This photo, taken from the helicopter watching the race, illustrates the beauty of Majorca and the town of Palma
My view of the harbour
Kristoff steals Greipel's wheel for the sprint from a rather disconsolate Blythe
Bennati surprised everyone by launching an early sprint out of the middle of the train and it nearly worked, but…
Kristoff was victorious, judging his sprint to perfection! Greipel and Rojas, the two other favourites rather faded away and ended up 14th and 6th respectively.
Which left me able to celebrate on a victory for the team in my first race!
I was really happy - maybe I was a lucky charm to the team or something, but Alexander did an amazing job and is the holder of three jerseys now!
1 | | Alexander Kristoff | Team Saxo Bank | 2h32'10'' | 2 | | Oscar Freire | Katusha Team | s.t. | 3 | | Manuel Cardoso | Caja Rural | s.t. | 4 | | Robert Hunter | Garmin-Barracuda | s.t. | 5 | | Daniele Bennati | Radioshack-Nissan | s.t. | 6 | | Jose Joaquin Rojas Gil | Movistar Team | s.t. | 7 | | Theo Bos | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 8 | | Adam Blythe | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 9 | | Robbie McEwen | Orica-GreenEDGE | s.t. | 10 | | Thor Hushovd | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | ... | 38 | | Matthias Fischer | Team Saxo Bank | s.t. |
I finished up in the middle of a semi-peloton; due to the intense sprinting the peloton had split in half and several favourites for the hilly stages had lost a minute or so, luckily that wasn't the case for me though.
See you for the next stage!

That's a really a good report for a first one..
One thing: Can you give the stats of Matthias Fischer, or if you want to do it like Ian did, no stats, but a hint of the stats?

@FroomeDog: I'm on normal difficulty because I'm not really very good at PCM If i start getting a bit better I'll upgrade it to hard. It won't be like this all the time though.
@dienblad: Thanks
@Jesleyh: Thanks - I'm with Ian's school of thought in not revealing stats as it adds to the story Matthias is a capable climbing domestique at the moment but definitely not a leader yet

I usually follow stories until I've seen that they're going to stick, but I must say that this looks like an exception!
Quality screens, good layout and a clean results sheet. Usually takes new storywriters a little while to master that, but you've already done so. Really nice work.
Only little tip I have is to use another site for uploading the screens, as they get scaled down quite a lot right now. Photobucket would be my recommendation.
