I am in the middle of the 2007 season using the Spain DB and have the following team ready for the TDF:
Alberto Contador - Leader
George Hincapie - 1st Lieutenant
Ivan Basso - 2nd Lieutenant
Michael Rasmussen - Climber
Iban Mayo - Climber
Roberto Heras - Climber
Yaroslav Popovych - Support
Vladimir Gusev - Support
Serguei Gonchar - Support
*Levi Leipheimer - Bench Warmer (not riding because he is a skirt with no heart)
This could be the greatest team ever assembled. I know in real life it would have been impossible as well as the fact that many of these guys are dopers who are suspended from the Tour but that is the fun of PCM...you can create dream teams and see how they would have done in real life. I would say this team should be almost unbeatable at the Grand Tours but we shall see!

He has presumably edited the database to add Basso and playing as Disco has managed to sign Heras, Rasmussen, Mayo and Gonchar from free agents.
Do tell us how you get on in the tour although if you wanted proper domination you should have brought along Allan Davis for the sprints.
And was that Leipheimer comment really necessary? (The answer is no)

I did not edit the DB (I tried but it never saves right) but Basso and the other dopers were just available in Free Agency. I know there are two DBs included in Spain so I just must be using the one with the dopers.
I did think about adding Davis for the sprints but he is so worthless in the mountains that I just couldn't bring myself to put him on the roster. My plan is to push the pace up every mountain and just destroy the Peloton and break the will of the other GC contenders while trying to help Rasmussen or Mayo win the Polka Dot jersey!
And as far as the Levi comment, I respect the opinions of others if they want to like him but in my mind he has proven time and again to not have the right stuff and I do not like him as a rider. I feel that he is one of those people with all of the natural talent but does not work as hard as he should and just does not have the killer instinct needed to be a top level star.
Anyway lets not ruin this thread with talk of Levi, instead post those super teams!!! |

I'm about to start the 2008 season (PCM Spain pack + db) with he following team. I am Quickstep by the way
Tom Boonen
Paolo Bettini
Alejandro Valverde
Damiano Cunego
Stijn Devolder
Gert Steegmans
Alexander Efimkin
Aleks Pliouschine
Steven de Jongh
Pieter Vanspeybroeck
Giovanni Visconti
Sebastien Rosseler
Kevin Hulsmans
Kevin Van Impe
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Mark Cavendish
M Wyss
Boasson Hagen
Ulissi
Sven Krauss
Ivan Santaromita
Davide Vigano
Alessandro Proni
Geert Verheyen
Jurgen Vandewalle
Dmitro Grabovskyi
My team only has got somewhat like 26 riders. next year I'm gonna promote Valverde to leader (is now protected rider) and let 34 years old Bettini go. I'm planning to expand the team to 30 riders containing smoe plain team-mates instead of Bettini... |

I like this team very much too. Ony rider I'd like to add is Jelle Vanendert instead of Bettini next year. And as a add-on I'd like to recruit some good team-mates who can ride hard, especially on the flat... Guys who can pull the peloton. |

His results are pretty impressive if you ask me. If he is forced to play second fiddle by team management and not able to win a certain Tour because he has to haul an unproven spaniard up the final mountains it is not his fault.

I think so too, If he had been captain at Disco this year he could have won le Tour, he is definitely one of the strongest Time Trialists, and also quite good in the mountains.Maybe he should have just stayed at Gerolsteiner.

An unproven Spaniard... who appeared to finally win that one and succeed over Levi, who was nowhere in the first part of the race. |

name one time he took a single relay for Contador. you can't. because he didn't. the only times he took a relay in the same group as Contador were the time when he dropped Contador or the two times he attacked.
that said, it's unreasonable to say that Leipheimer is not a good rider because he isn't speactaculer but consistent. by that logic, Evans isn't a good rider either.

Great teams posted so far and yes lets stay away from Levi (I hate him as much as anyone but lets stay on track).
Keep those teams coming! Also I am getting closer to riding the Tour with the team that I posted and I will let you guys know how it goes. The toughest part is trying to get everyone peaked out for the race, I am not sure if I will be able to pull it off but I will try! My goal is to win the Yellow jersey (Contador), the KOM (Ras or Iban), the overall team victory, and the Young Rider jersey (Contador). Iban actually won the KOM for me at the Tour of California but the competition for it was pretty weak. |

Pretty one-sided, but EXTREMELY skilled.
No cobbled or flat races for those fella's.
On the other hand, they'll win all three GT's, so... |

its not his team but his database
those are the best climbers from the DB he made and not his team. |
