many players like the story of shooter but not the best shooter story it's the most awesome shooter game
you play solo the story,it will become boring(black ops)
some have splitscreen or co op from lan but it's not the story from solo
modern warfare 3 that special missions,has diferent missions and not many which are good but not awesome
most awesome shooter it's Gears of War 3
it's just on xbox360 and that's the reason which most probably didn't played
this game can be played from 1 xbox in story with 4 controllers,so 4 humans offline in story(splitscreen in 4 windows)
systemlink for xbox360 it's like lan for pc
story you can play in 2 in systemlink and online.so 2 controllers(splitscreen) or like they say co-op in splitscreen
i'm not sure if i remember correct but another awesome thing,it's that you can continue your story
let's say you played offline and in systemlink or online you are host
you can continue your story from offline in online/systemlink or start from begining,but just if you are hosting
has slots of saved story if i remember
has versus mode(which is local mode at black ops) with 4 controllers
has bots in versus mode(like black ops)
story in gears of war 3 it's named campaign,not confusing some people
i never seen a shooter so complete and fun playing with others in story
i'm not fan of shooters,so i don't play every day shooters,that's why i don't remember for sure 2 things
i played in systemlink as client and host,1 year ago,but my memory it's rusty
rank 1 of shooters gears of war 3
the other shooters don't deserve not even rank 2 because of huge diference at overall experience

versus mode 1-4 players offline

and has a realy cool story
Have played Gears of War 3 but not Battlefield 3, MW3 or Bo(rderlands?) 2, so can really judge on about if it is more awesome.
Gears of War 3 was really fun to play though

Goldeneye - N64
Perfect Dark - N64
CoD 1 - PC
and a variety of RPG FPS's like Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and my personal favorite of these S.T.A.L.K.E.R
