We have decided to react to the increase in Management Game-like games that has appeared in the story section of PCM.daily.
We have a lot of very well-written stories that's a great part of what PCM.daily is. Unfortunately, due to the new 'games' that's being created in the story section, a lot of these stories are being pushed down and thus doesn't get the attention that they deserve.
Therefore, we, the crew, have decided to make a rule to keep the story section clean:
Any story - whether it's a game a la the ManGame or not - can at most have two threads related to the story. For example, one can be used for reports, another for comments. In games, one can be used for reports, another for team HQ's.
For existing stories, this rule should be applied before the end of this week. From Monday, we will lock existing threads.

I also welcome this to be honest. The games are probably cool, but the HQs are everywhere now in the story section(if i got it right and all HQs will be in one place now, because that would be really nice)...

I'm I still good with my MrE3 stories? I would considered it 3 separate stories but other would probably linked them together thus breaking this rule in a way. I know this is being made for the "games thread overload" and not per say the stories so I think I'm good...

Well, it's a necessary rule, I believe. |

Small tip to all game-owners: Create just 1 thread with race reports, so people can find them easily, for team HQs, transfers etc it could be smart to make your own, free forum. This way you don't have to change your entire set up without having millions of threads spamming the Stories section.

With the increasing number of management games, this had to be done - I think it's a great rule

This. Plus it`s easy to have a general overview on the first page first post and there link all races, which lead you directly to the specific page. So you still keep a good overview and a quick system within one thread. |

Good rule!
Just shows how much people love to play PCM with/against other people!

I understand the concerns of the huge number of threads, but I would find it sad to see some of the PCM CL stories disappear. Would it maybe be possible to create 1 subforum for all these games where the threads can be moved to?
So I mean: there will be one main game thread in the stories section, and all the transfers threads, team HQs, etc. are in a different place, where they won't disturb the normal stories.

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

just to clarify, any existing threads will be locked, or only those that are not the main one?

I guess probably the HQ threads etc, not the main thread. I think |

Yeah, of course I agree with this...
But, I've got the same problem as Ollfardh... I don't like it to see the PCMCL stories disappear...
I guess it isn't possible to make a subforum: Pro cycling manager 12 -> Custom seasons?

Well, doesn't even have to be for a specific year of PCM, just one place for all the games will be enough.
If you look at the PCM CL HQ's for Garmin or Rabobank for instance, they are beauties. I would say they are on par to some of the "real" stories. So closing those or merging them all into one messy thread would be a shame. So yeah, the compromise of a subforum for HQ's, transfer threads, etc. would make everyone happy I think?

Yeah, you're right, forgot about that, it doesn't even have to be sorted on year...
btw, thanks that you mention Rabobank HQ

A section for these games would be the perfect solution!

No it would still be bad± With these FantasyGames there are like 4 Rabobank teams, which eventually will lead to massive confusions.
Just make 1 thread with Race Reports, and give everyone competing a subforum on a selfmade, free forum. That would solve all problems.

I was never found of the Team HQ's anyway, but why close and not deleted the threads?
