I was quite surprised that there wasn't a thread for this. For me, this is the best game of the year. Because I'm interested in history and the gameplay is awesome. So, who's gonna buy it? I definitely am!

I've preordered it and I'm really looking forward to it, both gameplay- and story-wise.

I like these games - they're good for the winter.
Still working my way through Revelations, but I'll buy III when the prices goes under £20.
Hope for a real update with III - Revelations and Brotherhood were basically expansion packs of II and gameplay getting very samey. |

Hopefully the game will be more like 2, which was by far the best in the series, but honestly it is just going to be a hyper American kill-those-dastardly-British-and-save-Democracy game, which is the last thing that I want to play. Also the creative director (a huge role in any plot-heavy game series) left after Revelations, so the game will probably feel a bit different. That could be a good thing... or it could just be terrible.
Also for the love of god can something please actually happen?! The series can't keep asking questions without answering some along the way. Revelations was the worst in this regard (I won't post spoilers obviously).
Anyway at work we got 82 cartons of stock in for the game. So that will be fun.

This is reason why i stopped playing most of recent games, this is just ruining it. Look at Cyanide e.g. (Armada, armada, nothing more).

I love the game, but during all those years of production, didn't anyone on that huge staff ever say "Hey, guys? Maybe white writing on a white background while the character is speaking an indian language isn't such a good idea?"

The assassinations and events and even part of the story line are based on real facts, events and legends.

About that, which game shops do you use?
I know Amazon.co.uk, shopto.net, play.com - are there more web shops that I should know about?

None personally lately.
Winter Steam sales all the way Or just in general - Steam. I picked up Just Cause 2 for 3£ two days ago on Steam, epic game for epic price
I rarely buy games in even web shops, but when I do - Amazon.co.uk and Play.com have usually the best prices by far.
Plus, are very reliable too.

Amazon or Play generally for me. Though I find a quick search on Google shopping can turn up some bargain prices as well.
The Assasins Creed games usually drop in price pretty quick and as I'm still finishing Revelations no point shelling out full price for it.
Game has had some encouraging reviews from what I've read. |

I liked Play.com a few years ago, but they've upped their prices and are rarely the cheapest now, so I shop around.Bought at least one game at Simplygames.co.uk and one at Game.co.uk (both because they were the cheapest at the time). |

I am disappointed by AC3 a bit, so far i feel like the third edition is much more linear and corridor action than the previous editions (second one especially).

Really? I'm about 6 sequences in and haven't found that at all. 2 was probably more open but this is much closer to Rev and BH.
All up I'd say this is the best one since AC2. High paced plot with some great twists, extremely fluid combat, brilliant tree climbing mechanics and though there are a few bugs they will be ironed out.
