Heya, If you've made it this far, then you're probably at least mildly interested in my story! I was a Classics specialist, born in southern USA. To be honest though, this blog will mostly be used to keep people up to date as i write my auto-biography.
My Name, is Shy Vogel, and after I decided that during this; my last season as a cyclist, I will also begin to write my autobiography. This post will contain links to every new chapter as i write them, and there will be season by season Albums of images taken during my career, so without further ado... Welcom, to Cobbles, Classics and a whole lotta History!
The first link is the book on an online writing forum, might be easier, rather than having to download every update just to read?
Spoiler This is a semi-continuation of my Exxon-Walmart story that I ran on PCM'10. The build up to this one will be included in the book in later chapters, but a basic premise is this...
Shy Vogel was a kid i scouted who had incredible potential as a classics rider. After Exxon-Walmart folded over the Armstrong scandal, Shy Vogel was thrown head first into the world of pro cycling. He did indeed become a great cyclist and now at age 37, he's writing an auto-biography...

Great read, but perhaps a little long. I can't see myself reading a report (chapter) that long every time. However that said I really enjoyed it. Perhaps he could include a few pictures as well, or did he lose them over time? Good luck, will follow.

Cheers man, I'll try and put the first real chapter of the book out over the weekend, but because of the style updates will be a little while apart, just hoping people go for this, as its pretty different to anything I've seen before
@MrE Reports will be quite an odd style, but a little while apart, yes I am going to include pictures as well, this report is a slightly different style to my future ones, because it's supposed to be a semi-link between my original Exxon story, and my new Vogel story

Thank you for Exxon. I can't forgive you for ending it, and in turn will not follow this, but thank you for it.

No offense, but I would hate to receive a comment like this.
It is the direction he wants to go in, and if you supported his story, or him you would be happy he has a new story.
All stories come to an end, and not following their latest, because the former was stopped is a really childish reason imo. I wouldn't have posted this, but I notice you have done it before. I mean, his former story was PCM 10, maybe he wants to write a story on the new game? Give some slack.
---------------
Admittedly I didn;t really follow your old story, but so far this seems nice.
I didn't find the write up too long, keep it up.

@Valverde It's Baseball, I know he doesn't mean any actual harm, he was one of my biggest followers on my old story
I agree I don't think the whole "wont follow" bit was a bit unnecessary, but ah well. In terms of my reasons, you've pretty much nailed it, PCM10 just feels a bit too old and clunky, plus I havent got time for a full story anymore due to uni commitments, hence I've streamlined to this book concept
@Themanxmissile, I see what people are saying, I hope they do because i think this reporting style will make it a more interesting and different affair, and I'm doing everything I can to avoid re-creating Ians story, it's great, but also it's his.
This "story" will probably be comprised of about 30reports, each of which will be about half a chapter, but it's nothing like a traditional PCMstory, because I won't be reporting races, rather the life+career of Vogel,(An autobiography)

This is the best I could do not to want to rip his head off. Sorry. :P

@Baseball, I'm sorry I had to end Exxon, I know you enjoyed the story, I just simply didn't have time for it anymore, also I bought PCM2012 when it came out, and then never played it because of having my 2010 story, If you really wanted I could send you the DB's and stuff and you could play the career/even keep the story going?

Just finished Chapter 1. For those of you complaining about length and speed etc, don't worry it'll slow down soon, at the end of the day I can only upload at weekends normally, so it'll be one per week of about this length
Link is the one in the first post, and here if you prefer the downloadable copy:

Just read all of this from start to finish. And my oh my, what a great read.. If only I could write like that (I get a C- for English if I'm lucky...) But seriously, this is good. I never read your Exxon story because, well I didn't know about it, but if it was as good as this is, I think I'll go read it.
Nice work, keep it up
Spoiler I would give you a double thumbs up, but there isn't a smiley for that... |

@Pinktay, getting a low english grade doesn't stop you, I scraped a B at GCSE a few years back Thanks man that really means a lot though, hope I can keep you entertained as we move on to his actual career
@Ian Butler. Cheers man, hope you don't feel my idea is too much of a copy of your Velásquez one, I tried to make it different
