Race Report

Welcome to Quebec, Canada where rain greets the riders for a tough 200kms. Who can ride through the hell to claim the title of
2012 American RR Champion?

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/1.jpg

The rain is unforgiving as riders are puncturing and crashing left and right.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/2.jpg

The struggling to form an opening breakaway was also present early on.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/3.jpg

Attempt after attempt, over the race radio you could ever here managers telling RadioShack to stop sending Chris Horner because that was the reason the morning breakaway couldn't get away.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/4.jpg

Speaking of which Horner goes again. And again is pulled back...

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/5.jpg

Eventually, after Horner finally gave up, the peloton settled on letting this 3 man group go; Ángel Vicioso (Pickles312), Andreas Klöden (Moget99),
and Dominique Rollin (CPU).

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/6.jpg

A few more riders bridged the gap (CPUs) before they started
to pull their advantage out around the 7-8 minute mark.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/7.jpg

After hearing their huge advantage over the race radio, BMC (Mresuperstar) and Euskaltel - Euskadi (lluigii) took control of the front of the peloton.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/8.jpg

And after some crazy kilometers of chasing which including peloton splits
and more crashes the BMC and Euskadi duo had closed
the gap to a minute heading into the final climb.
Where at first Sanchez attacked and then Evans a few kilometers.
But back in the breakaway ...

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/9.jpg

Paul Martens (CPU) was making a sprint to the line!

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/10.jpg

Martens wins the race (passing a lapped rider at the finish). Another (CPU) Grega Bole takes 2nd. But the battle for 3rd was the one that determined our American RR Champion.

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/11.jpg

It's Cadel Evans (Mresuperstar) Vs. Samuel Sanchez (lluigii)
as Kloden (Moget99) and Vicioso (Pickles312)
are swallowed up on the climb towards the finish!

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Online%20Championships/2012%20American%20RR/12.jpg

And it's Cadel Evans hanging on for the win!
Thus making Mresuperstar your 2012 American RR Champion!

Thanks to everyone that competed and
hopefully we will have more members competing next year.

Race Report

The 2012 American ITT Championships were decided at a course used as stage 19(or 20 counting the prologe). Though Bradley wiggins won this race on the tour. However he finished 15 and was one of the favorites who struggled. Tony Martin was the most unbeatable I have ever seen him. He finished first and finshed first at both time checks. Martin beat David Millar who finished second by 47 seconds and beat Janez Brajkovič who finished third by by 2:14. I have never in my life seen him so good.
Good surprises:
3 Janez Brajkovič Astana Pro Team + 2'14
4 Andreas Klöden RadioShack - Nissan + 2'22
6 Denis Menchov Katusha Team + 2'43
28 Andy Schleck RadioShack - Nissan + 4'07

bad surprises:

15 Bradley Wiggins Sky Procycling + 3'27 Moget99
51 Gustav Erik Larsson Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team + 4'59 Mresuperstar
76 Geraint Thomas Sky Procycling + 5'59 Moget99

But in the Mresuperstar Gambled by taking Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team, he was banking it all on Laarson which in the end cost him so your 2012 American ITT champion is Maxime86

Some report! Pfft

More detailed,

In Individual Keiren, Luigi beat me `1-2 for the first 2 rounds, before I beat him. He solitified his victory though with a win in the 4th round. I won the last with him third, to finish two pints back.

I won the first 3 rounds of spint. He attacked early to take the 4th, although I set a record for speed in the case, topping out at 81 km/hour. Then I proceeded to win the final 2 rounds.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
