Who finished the year with 20 stage wins.

-----

Mark Cavendish also played a big part in our next award.

Kenny Van Hummel from Skil-Shimano by 6 points.

-----

But Kenny Van Hummel and his teammates did enough to earn our next award.

CT Rankings - Team

www.roadbikeaction.com/contentimages/2009/Skil_1_roadbikeaction.jpg

Skil-Shimano had a great year,
and will be joined by Vacansoleil in the ProTour next season.

It's now time to present the award you have been waiting for,
the best cyclist of the year award.

Velo d'Or

www.albertocontadornotebook.info/i/velodor08velomag.jpg

Alberto Contador

This man was on a different level all year and his results can't be beat by any other cyclist this year. And with a high price tag, Contador will be taking his talents to Saxo Bank next season as they reload after the Schleck brothers formed their new team Leopard-Trek.

---

Thank You for sticking around all season,
and we hope to provide another great year in 2011.

2011

Spoiler
After a hard fought season the only thing we have left to do is present
and reward the outstanding achievements that were accomplished
over the last ten months. We will start at the top,
as I would like to give you your 2011 Pro Tour Champions ...

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Award%20Show/1.jpg

Leopard-Trek is the best team in the peloton for the second straight year
if you count Saxo Bank winning the title the last year.
Lead by the Schleck brothers, who collected 46% of their 1406 points,
Leopard can leave the cycling on the highest terms.
With the team dissolving and combinating with RadioShack for next season,
the will be one last celebration of the team.

From the PT to the CT, the battle to be the best in the lower division really wasn't a contest at all. EA-Sony Ericsson rode away right from the start of the season and never looked back. Lead by the Swedish duo of Larsson and Lofkvist, they beat 2nd place Landbouwkrediet by over a 1,000 points.

The make up of the Pro Tour always goes through major changes from year to year with promotion and regulation along with sponsor changes.

Victory count is always interesting to look at, and this year is no different
with 3 riders will share this award with 12 wins each to their names -
Alessandro Petacchi, Fabian Cancellara, Alberto Contador

i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff456/mresuperstar3/Award%20Show/3.jpg

Team wins was just as close with Garmin-Cervelo beating out
Lampre-ISD by just a single a victory. Their new manager
will hopefully continue their winning ways into the 2012 season.

Sure victories are great but the really measuring stick in cycling are the ranking points. Here are your best PT and CT cyclist of the year.

Leaders

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Garmin-Barracuda/Team%20Presentation/farrar.jpg

Tyler Farrar, 28 years old, from the United States of America. Farrar has developed into one of the fastest sprinters in the world. He has racked up plenty of stage wins in his career and even won the points competition during last years Tour de France. As for this year we hope to send Farrar back to the TdF and then the Vuelta a Espana later in the season to battle for stage wins and point jerseys.

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Garmin-Barracuda/Team%20Presentation/ryder.jpg

Ryder Hesjedal, 31 years old, from Canada. Hesjedal is the best climber on the team and will lead the team through both the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France. Ryder has a shake past and has been off and on throughout his career. We are hoping this will be his breakout season even though he is well into his prime being 31.

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Garmin-Barracuda/Team%20Presentation/millar.jpg

David Millar, 35 years old, from Great Britain. Millar is best known for he can do the time trial bike. But now into the last part of his career that is starting to deplete as well. So what makes Millar a leader? His experience and how he motivates the team on a day to day basis. And he will probably find a way to get a few wins along the way as well, which is always nice.

Australia RR National Championship

January 8, 2012

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Reports/National%20Championships/Australia/Profile.jpg

The first race of the season! Garmin have two Australians and both of them make the trip, Heinrich Haussler and Nathan Haas.

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Reports/National%20Championships/Australia/1.jpg

After a few attempts a 6 man breakaway forms including Haas.

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Reports/National%20Championships/Australia/2.jpg

Extremely bad luck for Nathan as he flats, and our mechanics start their season. It takes a few kilometers but he does manage to rejoin the breakaway.

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Reports/National%20Championships/Australia/3.jpg

It's XBox, Orica, and BMC doing the chasing in the peloton but it doesn't seem to be working as the breakaway hovers around 10 minutes!

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Reports/National%20Championships/Australia/4.jpg

And the breakaway makes it all the way to the finish!

i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w390/mresuperstar5/Reports/National%20Championships/Australia/5.jpg

Allan Davis is your Australian National RR Champion.
Nathan Haas had nothing left in his tank after battling back from that flat
as he has to settle for 6th in a valiant effort.

No need for a huge report when this Aussie destroys the competition.

Nice reports, I love the PCM12 graphics, far smoother and nicer than 11.

Bobridge really wasn't competition until the finish as Evans beat him by at least 30 seconds at every checkpoint. The only reason he came close was because of Evans slowing down to celebrate

And yes the graphics look amazing especially with Jacky Durands sponsorkits. I'm just hoping my cpu can handle the high graphics when I move to races with 180-190 riders as it usually runs slower with more riders. Wink
