General Story Background
This stems from a scouted rider i found back on PCM10. He was described as a future great, and he was. Within a year he was a serious TT'er and growing cobbles talent. It's about time that Ladin got some true recognition.

A Step too Far?
Hi,
Its been a while since the team presentation now. Hope you liked it. 30 Seconds to Mars were my idea. I am a massive music lover.
Today i write from a hotel in Beijing. Tomorrow i start my road to the Olympics. I'm here as part of the Russian team at the UCI World Cup Classic. I've got a place for the Individual Pursuit, Team Pursuit and Madison.
I am so nervous. I've never ridden such a major event. My training over the winter went well, and i'm in good shape. I havn't been with the Goslotto team for a few weeks, and wont be back with them until March.
8 riders are off in Malaysia and i wish them the best of luck.
I'lll give you daily updates of my progress here. I just hope i dont let anyone down.
Ladin
Personal History
Born in Vladivostok on Christmas Eve, 1992. His parents, Vitaly and Svetlana lived and worked in Vladivostok for the government.
They moved to Moscow when he was 7 in February 1999.
While not the smartest Ladin was good at sports, and began cycling aged 10 (2002).
Vitaly Livshits (father) died in a car accident in June 2003.
Ladin and his mother moved to St. Petersburg in late 2005.
Ladin won his first race, a local inter-school competition, aged 14, in December 2005.
One week later, December 23rd, Svetlana was killed in Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 217 crash. Ladin was now an orphan.
In 2006 he joined a local St. Petersburg youth cycling team.
In the winter of 2007 Ladin won the U16 Schools title.
Following this win he joined the National Youth Cycling Programe, aged 16.
Ladin took his first major win in the summer of 2009, winning the National Junior TT Championships, aged 17.
Ladin took another step when he won the Moscow Invitational 10,20 and 30 mile TT events in the same year, against adult amateur and semi-professional level cyclists.
He successfully defended his Junior TT title in 2010.
Also in 2010 he won the Junior Track titles for the Individual and Team Pursuits .
In 2011 he won both the National Road Race and Time Trial Championships.
Ladin also defended his Track titles in the Individual Pursuit and Team Pursuit, as well as adding the Omnium, Flying 200, Individual Sprint and Madison titles.
Finally in October 2011 Ladin signed with new team Gosloto-AvtoVAZ

Alex Rasmussen is fired from HTC-Highroad as a result of missing an out of competition doping control
Alex Rasmussen was then banned for 2 years as this constituted a third missed test. An investigation was launched into SaxoBank as a result
Following the SaxoBank investigation the following riders will be banned; Christensen, Hernandez, Jorgensen, Klostergard, Margaliot, Morkov, Navarro, Noval, Sorensen, Sorensen, Steensen and Vandborg.
With the collapse of SaxoBank a void has been left in Danish cycling.
Heineken made their intention to step in clear, and have been searching for a partner sponsor.
Today that sponsor has been announced as Danish technology firm Bang&Olufsen.
At a preliminary announcement in Copenhagen, at the Danish Federation hq a jersey was announced, along with their first 3 riders.

The first 3 riders are Matti Breschel, Wout Poels and the return of Thomas Dekker.
Dekkers name caused a stir, but his help in the HumanPlasma case means the new team trust him.
The new Heineken-B&O team will not be WT for 2012, but will aim to return in 2013.
Transfer Updates
GreenEdge have been busy.
Cadel Evans is the headline off-season aquisition. His clear goal is the TDF, and to achieve this GreenEdge have also added Porte, Rogers, Lloyd and Sutherland to aid in climbing. In fact the 2012 squad will be 100% Australian.
Not to be outdone on transfers Katusha have been busy. Kiriyenka, both Velits will join the team. And perhaps the new Cannibal, but for now he is the Tourminater, Peter Sagan joins the team.
Heineken announced more riders, with Fuglsang and Bak joining the team.
Sky are making aditions with Millar moving from Garmin.
Never before have there been this many changes, but it will certainly make for an enthralling season at the top end.

My first blog of the year.
As you know i signed for a new U23 Russian team, Goslotto-AvtoVAZ. I know most of team mates from my track background, especially Chris Malev.
Malev and i won the U23 national Madison title in 2011. We are also best mates. We picked up cycling at the same time, joined the same club, race together. We even share a flat in St. Petersburg.
The team have met up a few times, just to get to know each other, and discuss a few other team issues.
We have done a few team rides around Moscow, the team HQ, and Malev, Kasun and i have done some more around St. Petersburg.
I'm looking forward to the official team prestentation in Moscow in a few days. I've seen the schedule and there is a very nice surprise in there.
Looking at the season ahead my goals are set. I have two main goals for the season. The first is to get to the Olympics as part of the Russian Track team. To aid this i'll be riding 3 world cup events, which does mess my road programme up a bit. I'll be in Beijing first in late January, then in London in February as part of the UCI World Cup. My final track ride is the Nationals, which are early this year, in Moscow in May.
My second goal is the U23 Worlds in September in Holland. I hope to win the TT event. I dont think ill be in the RR as the course is too hilly.
The team have been sorting out the calendar. Unfortunately our small budget limits us to only a few races but we will be going all out.
I know this was a bit long, but theres a lot to say.
I will be conducting an interview soon, and i have to say that i'll answer any of your questions as well.

Sat opposite me is the new kid on the block. Tallish, lanky, but yet bulky and powerful all at once. He carries himself with confidence only the young can have. Well turned out in top quality jeans and hoodie combo. The room is well lit, and i can catch a glint in his eye, and it says all i need to know, this kid is something special.

DI; 2011 saw you dominate the U23 Track National, either alone, or with your friend chris Malev. There are rumours your vying for an Olympic place.
LL; The 2011 Nationals were amazing. Chris [Malev] was a perfect team mate to have. The Olympics? I've made it a goal to get into the team. I will be in action in Beijing in January, London in February and the Nationals in May. Good performances will give me a chance. I know im faster than some of the established riders so i need to show it.
DI; You're part of the new team Goslotto-AvtoVaz. This puts your in direct competition with Itera-Katusha, Katusha and RusVelo.
LL; It does. And that is going to be tough. Katusha are in another level to us, and it may be where i end up in a few years. I hope we can compete well against Itera on the road, and Rus on the track. There is enough talent in Goslotto to achieve some good results.
DI; We know you as a track cyclist, that ocasionally turns up for time trials. How do you see the transition to road?
LL; It will be tough to start with. It isn't helped by my aim at the Olympics, as my first road races wont be until March at best, and then it will only be a few. While i do love a good time trial, i should have the power to contest most terrains.
DI; The Goslotto-AvtoVAZ team presentation is imminent now, are you looking forward to it?
LL; Of course. The team have done a few rides and meetings. Things are moving along nicely. Plus theres a very nice surprise.
DI; A surprise?

News Update
Heineken - B&O have been busy in the transfer market, trying to get a team together. They are taking on the remaining SaxoBank riders who have not been banned. This gives them a solid base to work from.
In adition to that they have announced; Bak, Fuglsang, Guldhammer, Sobota, Valgren Andersen, Quaade, Terpstra and both Kreders.
Heineken will clearly be a very strong team in the season to come.
No word yet on what is happening with Contador, who is back in August.
Europcar have added three new riders to boost their chances in the WT. Rollin moves across from FDJ. They have also pinched the Haedo brothers from Heineken. No french aditions but very good signings.
Nyuens leaves Heineken to move over the Omega-Pharma Quickstep in support of Boonen and Chavanel. They will be the cobbles team to beat.
Paulino and Pires leave Heinken to join Efapel-Glassdrive.
Finally, Tosatto and Boaro will race for Lampre in 2012.
