50km in, 133km to go and the peleton is down to 103.

All early attacks were neutralised as Wiesenhof and DFL set a high tempo up to the first cobble section, a shot 11% climb. It splintered the peleton and a group of DFL, Wiesenhof and HealthNet riders had a small gap for a few kilometres, before it all came back together.

Vigano and Van Heeswijk crash!

They must have just collided on one of the turns, with no cobbles in sight. Van heeswijk had a strong showing in Omloop Het Volk with a top 15 place, he crashed in that race too!

Hollands drops back to help Van heeswijk.

Lejman, Komkov, Sabido and Richeze have been allowed a 55 second gap over the peleton as Van Heeswijk rejoins the pack.

Cobble Section number 2 approaches, it is flat but followed by a tough non-cobbled climb.

The break are caught on the 2km section and Hammond, Hoj and Meirhaeghe are caught out in a split. It comes together but they are badly positioned before the hill.

There are no splits on the 8.4% hill but Wiesenhof have stretched the peleton out. Bobby Lea is at the back of the 138 man peleton and is a whole 2 kilometres behind the front of the group.

A fierce Wiesenhof tempo on a cobbled section and then a cobbled climb narrow the peleton down to 34. The biggest name missing is Tinkoff's Ivanov, who punctured at the wrong moment.

Coming up are some very tough cobbled climbs ~ and pictures.

Another cobbled climb highlight's the problems of the chase.

The teammates chasing charge up the climb, but then get a gap on their so called leaders and have to wait.

It is looking VERY good for Hoste!

Hoj is still in the chasing group but is only just hanging on and not visible in the picture.

No more cobbles left for Hoste, but he doesnt need any! Victory seems assured.

Theres just Albert, Cappelle, Meirhaeghe, Wellens, Franzoi, Hammond, Mattan and Hoj left in the chase group, but they wont catch Hoste!

With Wrolich and Traksel in E3, the lead chase group will have to ride hard to be assured of positions 2-9.
