The greatest game of all time is Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It has almost everything that makes Skyrim amazing, except that it was made a decade ago.

But yeah other amazing games - Portal 1/2, Borderlands, Civilization 4 (5 dumbs a lot of stuff down), pretty much anything published by Paradox and the Assassin's Creed series (which has been slowly going downhill since 2, which was almost a perfect game).
