I just dont get this.

When I want to train my form in a Tour for another Tour I really want to win I give my Team this orders:

Leader: DONT stay in the front
Helpers: 1 Protect Leader
60 mts follow Leaders
2 kms relief
1 kms accelerate the rhythm

And this what they do:

Persuit every single breakout and sprint at the end.

An in a Tour I care I give this orders:

Leader: Stay in front
Helpers: Everyone Protect Leader
60 mts follow Leaders
50 kms relief
15 kms accelerate the rhythm

And this what they do:

They let everyone go and they just decide to leave the leader alone and save some energy at the back of the peloton or even better get droped.

What kind of logic is that???

If everybody is protecting your leader, then nobody can chase the escapes.
Also if you give too many orders or if the orders are too heavy, then the riders might not be able to deliver.

But still it does sounds quite strange.
