Not long to go now and here in the UK the Olympic buzz is taking hold with the Olympic Torch making its way around the country. Today it came through my town of Widnes (close to the bottom of my road), but I was in work and missed it . my nieces got a picture took with the Torchbearer which peed me off more hahaha. So tomorrow when I have finished work, I will be going into Liverpool to see the Olympic Torch so I can finally be apart of history and say I was there, instead of suffering and missing the chance in work
Has anyone else had a chance too see the torch in the UK, I am looking forward to the Olympics now
A girl of the course I was on in college in carrying it tomorrow, so I have 2 locations to planned to see it, depending on getting to the next one quick enough, will be tough. Today another person I knew carried it in Warrington and I missed it too. Although I may be going to see it tomorrow, Im still very unhappy I have missed it in my own town
Will probably be seeing none of it. Might get onto the armada down to Weymouth but got no tickets and not in the country when the RR's on. Oh well, it's on the telly.
Its not really a career path for me, but will always be a fun hobby.

Will try to take picture!!
If you can see it, then it's much more interesting to see somebody you know carry it!

The Torch came to my home state in 1996, but sadly i was being born at the time and couldn't see it
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring.
Back from seeing the torch today, ended up at the after show concert at Pier Head in Liverpool, waiting for pictures to show on facebook, with the torch bearer, who gladly managed to get into the after show concert without a ticket. Got loads of pictures which I will share with you all tomorrow, I am too tired now.
What so funny about it I hadn't planned to meet the 3 girls and 3 teachers there, I happened to walk past them. Glad I did, it was a unforgettable evening that I will never ever forget, had a smile on my face all evening which is rare for me
Muse unveiled the song that will be played when athletes walk out and before podium ceremonies. Called 'Survival', it's quite good ( it could have been worse ) Public seems to like it too.
Hi.. i'm going to England to see the Olympic road race and TT, but i would like to know:
* will there be places with possibillity to see the race on bigscreen (right word??) ON the route so one could se the riders pass by occasionally. WITHOUT having to pay hundreds of moneys.. preferably for free.. or do i have to bring my computer ?
* is there any great stuff we should go see or do in the days with no racing ? (we're living in london or close by)
* is there a good place in London selling Oakley sunglasses ?
preferably one can do customizing
* we have ordered oyster cards with 30£ do you think this will be enough for travelling ? could you estimate how much it will cost with public transportation.

thanks in advance.
1) The only ticketed places on route is the Mall and Box Hill (for RR) and Hampton Court Palace (TT). Big screen info, not really known yet. Should be some all over the place though.
2) Yes, lots to do during the Olympics in London. National Houses are open, research your countries NOC to find out more. Olympic museum moves into Royal Opera House for free during the games. Belgium House has a cycling display.
3) Not sure on this, but there definately will be!
4) That should be more than enough money, but Oyster cards are very easy to top up if you run out. Just visit any tube station and tap it on the pad, and pay.
Anymore info you need?
